$68 isn't bad for a product like this in my opinion. Made in the USA and it helps support the growth of Fireball Tools, we need more startups like this if we ever want to escape the disposable era we are in.

Great looking new tool. I think I need an a hole handle for hanging it up. And a bottle opener too. I have to get me one.
@charliehofmann29702 жыл бұрын
You should drill and tap a 3/8 hole in the end of the handle to accept a bolt. Making it a sacrificial bolt that you can replace. So you don't ruin the end of it with the hammer knocking off the bb's that won't come off. (Not saying it would make it a chisel) you wouldn't want to beat/ break the bolt.

Much better looking than my chunk of file welded to a steel rod. For the slag in the nozzle you can make them last months if you start with a new nozzle. give it a good coating with the spatter spray in and out. do a bunch on shorter welds, coating the nozzle each time. The important thing is to not use metal to clean it. I always used the pinky finger on my glove to just brush it away. If you always season it that way you'll build up a good coating, just never let day shift use them or they're toast. Longest I made one last had to be 9 months in a production environment. I rotated two nozzles don't want to overheat the seasoning, the spatter may stick. Swapping help solve that.

That’s sweet I’d add a bolster on the end for striking with a brass or copper mallet for more stubborn bbs but a sand hammer or leather hammer will work with that. Maybe a brush attachment in the future for people that like that built in (not me). I’ll be picking one up, cheers!

I'm a carpenter and was raised by a painter. Both trades use scrapers often. WARNER makes a really nice carbide scraper but the carbide chips when scraping peeling paint on houses. Very frustrating to buy new blades due to chipping and not to dullness.

I basically use a sharp cold chisel to knock off splatter boogers. I always thought that's what you're supposed to do. So just take the time to sharpen a cold chisel. Usually they're pretty dull in my experience. Even the factory edge ain't so swift on them. Then people absolutely mangle them and never sharpen them. They work a lot better sharp. A good made in the USA cold chisel ain't cheap either. Unless you happen to find them used. I have a mad cold chisel collection.

I'm not a hater I promise! It's a good idea kinda ish... I would only use it for a scraper but instead of doing that I use a spatula idk wtf it's made out of but holds a razor edge even after spatter removal also I use a regular chipping hammer sharpen the hell out of the point and rake the slag off my welds so I don't ding or scratch them... Keep them thangs pretty. good idea but I'd like to see a center punch type of tool to replace my chipping hammer to be honest. Something that once it looses it's edge I can resharpen it and it won't loose it toughness or just become brittle. As much heavy dual shield flux core welding I do on rail cars it would come in handy and long and thin tool slightly smaller handle (I have small hands... Average woman's hands size.)
