I buy Gortons. They are flavorful and are easy to make. They also have a pretty full line from sticks to fish filet patties. My favorite product is their beer battered fish sticks which are a bit wider. Dunking the filets or sticks in tartar sauce just completes the whole dinner.

Trident brand is hands down the best frozen fish stick I have ever eaten. Costco has a 60ct bag I buy all the time. I make Fish tacos with these, adding fresh cabbage tossed in sriracha mayo or a fresh mixture of avocado and tzaziki sauce. Yum!

I always buy Gordon's crispy non minced fish sticks, but sadly the last bag I purchased two weeks ago have become a victim of shrinkflation about 25% smaller than the last time I purchased them which was probably about four months earlier. We generally only purchase when we have a craving for foods we grew up with.

Do you put a slice of yellow American cheese on your fish sandwiches? I do. And an onion/dill/mayo sauce I make for fish and chicken patty sandwiches. (I buy Banquet. More chicken/less coating. Lower in carbs.) I could use one right now!

A lot of people seem to like Gortons here so i got a big bag of 90. They smell like fish while cooking but they don't taste like fish at all, they are mostly breading i can only describe as chunky and tough. Need lots of tartar sauce to choke them down, i tried undercooking them with no better result. The fish sticks from my childhood i loved, they had actual fish inside with a light crispy breading, i guess those days are gone.

Fish sticks have a bad breading to fish ratio. Much better to get a larger piece of breaded fish, I love Gorton’s beer battered and also their fish sandwich ones, get some brioche buns from Walmart, a slice of cheese and some Trader Joe’s tartar sauce and you have an amazing fish sandwich!

⁠@@sjordan7085I agree with you that many Items are more expensive, but check out the 365 products, I go to Whole Foods for several items, like their carb free items, like noodles, lactose free butter, they have the cheapest pasture eggs, I also buy several items from their salad bar, like roasted mushrooms, a good deal when you think how much they shrink when cooking, Also the Indian food is good and cheaper than a restaurant same with the Cuban pulled pork, their cupcakes are the best if you like real butter cream, and their fish are not cheap but very fresh, the same with their vegetables and a large variety of fruits, they last in the refrigerator, no waste , also I buy many types of greens to mix with my salads and the butcher shop always has some cuts on sale. I usually go there to get my health food items

I think that I would like to try VAN DE CAMPS or MRS. PAULS, 'CAUSE when I last ate the GORTENS, I found it had a 'kinda fishy taste compared to like a fried HADDOCK dinner which had a nice clean ocean taste. Ever since I got a bad fish sandwich in a restaurant, I dread that dead fish aroma and taste. My father in law was a seafood restaurant head chef and I never had bad fish or clams or shrimp and that was in the early 1960's when everyone could afford to eat seafood a couple of times a week, it was that cheap.

Alas, here in Wisconsin and where you are in Texas, to these people we are flyover country. I’ve often noticed the same thing in taste tests on other channels. They’ll do a cheese comparison a day even though Wisconsin is a huge cheese producer, they won’t have brands from here. 🤷‍♂️

The problem, as with most processed food, is that for the amount of fat, sodium and calories, there is no nutritional value in these foods. It would be better to cook fresh fish at home. Add a vegetable, and you have a healthy meal. Happy Caturday

The Gortons that I bought were mostly bread, hardly any fish in the 'fish' sticks at all - and not a lot better for the fish fillets. The frozen fish sticks at Trader Joe's are much better, and their fish fillets, too.
