Ground is slower and tankier and requires a different playstyle. It has its own purpose of a frontline trying to outsustain the enemy. Nkt meant for solo que. Dragon build is an assassin so its for solo que.

Garchomp is really good but maaan there are too many stuns. One time I got jumped and stunned by Gardevoir/Umbreon/Blastoise for like 3 seconds which we all now is like 87 years in-game and my full hp lvl 14 Garchomp got KO. We still won but, since then I hate stuns with all my heart.

I main Garchomp, the ground build is not the most optimal but if you want to make it work, the best way is to go full tank imo (WP, FB, RG). Despite being much more team reliant than the dragon build, it can shine in certain scenarios (the dragon version is still superior tho). Also, for those who don't know: you can animation cancel one of the jumps of the dig+earthquake "combo". Press R and ZR in quick succesion (a little bit faster than you would do in the dragon combo), just make sure you hit dig from maximum distance. Otherwise it won't work.

I like using dig/dragon claws, I can see the synergy with dragon rush/claw but dig I feel like is just more straightforward and plus with throwing your enemies can have some supportive role as well.

Weakness policy is for Pokemon that stay in battles for a long time or have good scalling. Garchomp doesn't have the best scalling, plus the Dragon build focuses on shredding the opponent as fast as possible. If you want to stay in fights longer, you should play Drain Crown as it works well with Garchomp's high lifesteal.

Garchomp’s burst damage comes from its shredding auto attacks. You’re not really using your abilities to do the bulk of the damage, your abilities are simply utilities to get close to your target(s). Better options are muscle band, scope lens, rapid fire scarf, razor claw, weakness policy, buddy barrier (for unite move only), energy amp (for unite move only), attack weight (only if laning), float stone, and drain crown. TLTR: Charm is not good on Garchomp because its kit doesn’t synergise well with the character’s play style.

As a ground garchomp enjoyer, I politely disagree. I like that he is tankier and can dodge abilities if timed correctly with dig. I run pink emblems and silver so CC isn't as brutal with full heal. He has enough damage already to not need it in emblems. I consistently have 10-25 kills in masters. This is jungle only btw as I agree dragon is stronger lane.

Hello Cris. Proud Garchomp main here. Me & u r the only two ppl I've seen make Garchomp look good. Difference is I *try* to make him look good. So as a Garchomp main & enthusiast, he needs *severe* buffs to both his kits. His Unite & autos feel like the only things that need minimal changes/buffs, if any. Everything else needs to be revamped or almost cracked, *especially* the Ground build

Hello, also a Garchomp main here. The dragon build honestly feels fine, it doesn’t need to be touched (although, I wouldn’t be opposed to the dragon combo getting its crits back). I definitely agree on the ground build. It’s easy to stun Garchomp out of dig and earthquake, and the range and defense buffs on dig need serious buffs. I actually prefer the playstyle of the ground build more, but it doesn’t feel viable in today’s meta (and it hasn’t since season 3 imo). So, I usually play the dragon build because having unstoppable dragon rush at level 11 is a major help to garchomp’s very brawler style kit. I think the basic attacks feel fine, and the unite move too. I just wish the ground combo had more range (dig) and stronger slows (earthquake).

I'm sure there are plenty of Garchomp players better than I am. There have been some featured on Cris's channels. Even with such in mind, I don't really see him being dominant outside such videos I'm not even done responding to the other guy yet lol

@@Zarox8811 I wanna agree with u, but I simply cannot with most. Lack of Unstoppable pre-level 9 has screwed me over tons whenever attempting Dragon Rush. There are brawlers with both mobility and 100% tenacity who feel stronger than Garchomp from when I've played, faced & watched; Scizor & Scyther then Lucario & Machamp respectively. I can even give u a list of the buffs that already come to mind with each bit that *I disagree with* : - Dragon Claw needs Unstoppable, with the combo being Unstoppable as soon as the button is pressed during the Rush combo, with no change to full Unstoppable at Level 11. Level 13 just needs one extra hits imo to get his gauge to full much easier - coming back to this, the only real problem I had with Dragon Rush was that it gets interrupted way too often. With other similar style mons, I don't see their moves being interrupted or punished nearly as much as such. A way outside of CC immunity to counter such is all it needs. Unstoppable at Level 5 seems like too much & we don't need too much to appear again (m2x&y cough) - my apologies on a certain slip-up. Allow me to rephrase; Garchomp overall needs *severe* buffs. It feels like I'm playing an Ability-less mon, especially. And since, quite frequently, despite my overall good matches with him, expending his toolset (moves, Unite & eject) makes him susceptible to burst damage & CC, quite prevalent in this meta, it feels like he's at a greater disadvantage to most. I'm not gonna say I watch *every* tournament but simply from my own gameplay, I've never seen another Garchomp appear meta-defining I love Garchomp and can see his strengths and can even see how to utilise his strengths. I can also see how easily most of his strengths have easy counterplay to them, compared to most other brawlers
