look also at the 3DS, 3DS XL or 2DS, they can't play N64, Dreamcast or PSP, but they can play every other Nintendo handheld before them, as well as every other Nintendo home console up till the SNES, and are the best and intended way to play DS as well, as well as having a WAY BIGGER community, homebrew scene and online (although the servers closed just today they can be brought back through homebrew) and also easier troubleshooting because of the bigger community, considering the 3DS family sold almos 80 million units, I got my 2DS for $60 like 3 years ago, but currently a 3DS can be found on that price on local marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace or flea markets and even lower in the latter, if you can snatch a New 3DS/XL/2DSXL even better as the homebrew possibilities expand even further with PS1, Arcade and N64 emulation too, as well as many fan ports, they even got GTA 3 running on the New units

For those of you that have these, i have a quick question -> i know its not good for ps2 (at all) but the only game im interested in playing is final fantasy x. I cant find any info on this specific chipset. For context, the rk3326 is *just* slightly not enough to play it. Ffx is unbelievably optimized and can play on most toasters reasonably well. My 5 year old note 20 plays ffx with 4x scaling with zero issues. Many other ps2 games run horribly

It might depend on the Amazon listing but yes most of the ones that include an SD card should have games already. You can add games with a computer by adding your game ROMs into the correct folder on the SD card. If you're not familiar with how to do this there are plenty of guides out there that can show you.

You would need a computer, a micro SD card reader to plug the card into your computer, then download ROMs and drag them into the ROM folder for the correct console the game goes to. Unfortunately can’t tell you where to find ROMs but it’s not too hard to find them 😁

I've seen some who have RG35XX [Vertical] who managed to download Genshin and even use the controllers by adjusting some settings there, and I wonder if you can do it there along with changing the settings to make the controller work - planning to buy it 'cause it's my favorite controller!

I’ve never seen that done myself but if it can be done on an RG35XX, I imagine it can be done on this one since anbernic’s XX devices all have basically the same internals and software

I mean the Steam Deck is just great for emulation honestly if you’re willing to pay that much, plus you get Steam games. It takes some time to set up emulation on it but it’s worth it. I’ve never tried the Odin but if you already have a Steam library, the Steam Deck is definitely worth it

In my experience it's hit and miss. Some games run better than others but generally should be ok. If you have the means to upgrade to a better SD card and a different OS like Batocera then it should be better

The RG35xx plus is much better than the original and the H version is just the plus horizontal… the original 35xx is dated and should not be bought even with GarlicOS.

You need a computer, a microSD card reader, and whatever roms you want to add. Put the roms into the correct ROMS folder on the systems SD card and you’re set. I highly recommend Retro Game Corps. He has video tutorials and a written guide.

I disagree about Dreamcast running flawless. Mine ran with frame skip out of the box which half’s the frame rate on games so that’s definitely not flawless. Some games run full speed but most do not.

Nice review! This thing is a STEAL for under $70! I got mine in clear purple and it looks great! The purple is very subtle. I put Batocera Lite on mine and it runs great! Boot up time takes about 45 seconds though, but that's a lot better than it was a couple weeks ago when it took a minute and 50 seconds! I was amazed at how well N64 and Dreamcast worked! N64's Conker's Bad Fur Day and WWF No Mercy were no problem! Dead or Alive 2, one of the harder Dreamcast games to emulate, ran just like I remembered it! An amazing system! Feels great in the hands, battery lasts a long time, controls are excellent, and the screen is beautiful! Worth every penny!

UPDATE: Anbernic came out with a stock version 1.1.6 so I tried that, and WOW! It's not as flashy and fancy like Batocera was, but performance is MUCH better, and battery lasts longer too. Boot up time for me is about 30 seconds because I added a few more systems through RetroArch (Intellivision, ColecoVision, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, SG-1000, Odyssey2, etc). Saturn works great for most games I tried, Dreamcast and N64 seem to run a lot better. and PSP was a little better as well. The one thing I miss though is the lack of ports support. Anbernic gave us no documentation whatsoever. I figured out how to get GTA III, GTA Vice City, VVVVVV, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles : Shredder's Revenge to work, but I can not for the life of me figure out how to get Duke Nukem 3D, Sonic Mania, Half-Life, and Shovel Knight to work. I HAD Stardew Valley working but I switched cards and now I can't remember what I did to get it working! 😠I'm not too overly concerned because I have another Anbernic device (the RG351MP with a superb 640x480 screen) and I've got about 30 ports running on that. But it would be nice to have some instructions on how to set up ports, ANBERNIC!
