Yes, this is true. When ppl write music its becuz God has dealt with them, in some way, and allowed them to feel ppls hearts and what their going thru. God writes thru them to heal His ppls hearts and to encourage us, so no matter what the personal issues are of the musicians God can still use them, why, because He had to deal with them first. You can't write what you have never experienced. God and Kirk will deal with Kirk, we are to just intercede for our brethren cause all have issues of the heart and we are not the judge. King David was a murderer, a fornicator, an adulterer, a deceiver, must I say more and look how God used him. Dont think God is not dealing with ppls hearts!!! God bless Kirk Franklin.

Leave this man alone and let him do what he does, while some of u are on here talking down about him, Kirk is out here trying to save souls for Jesus, Paul said he became all things to all people in order for them to listen to his message, but Paul didnt go beyond what would have gotten him in trouble with Jesus., and neither is Kirk in what he is doing, Im sure Kirk has brought many young peope to Christ or at least made them aware of God, the rest is on them, isnt that what GOD commanded us to do? Go ye into all the world, when ye go and if they dont or wont listen, their maybe ways, yes, music.

Most of what you’re saying is true to a certain extent. I will say no more nor no less. I know some of the things he had done. But I’m not here to do Satans work. What he’s done in the past, I’ll leave it there and let GOD BE THE JUDGE.

Kathryn Williams thank you for standing up for our Brother Kirk Franklin. Remember how they called Jesus a sinner, a wine bibber, a glutton, accused Him of being a heretic and they even tried to throw Him off of a cliff? People will always look for negativity while you are trying and doing good. Let God continue to be glorified and bless His Holy Name in Jesus name as we continue to pray 🙏🏾 for and cover Kirk the Lord will fight his battles for him. Trust me my Sister I know how it feels to see this type of situation reminds me of Peter trying to protect Christ by cutting off the soldier's ear 👂🏾 with his 🗡️ sword. 🙏🏾😲😩🥰😁🤗❤️💜💝

It's so interesting you posted this. I was thinking to myself that I don't appreciate what an amazing musician this man is...We know he's a great songwriter, producer and director. But I didn't fully comprehend the breadth of his musicianship until this - after more than 20 years of loving his music and buying his albums.

I was reading some of the comments below and must share. God has been convicting me this week about our "Opinions" of other Christians and what that Christianity should look like. The Lord pointed me to several videos of Kirk and his beautiful Wife all week long and through interviews and his/their sharing I found out more about his past and his answer to God's calling, his life as a Minister of Music and how he loves his God and Family. I came away with an appreciation that I never had, but also a conviction that we offer up OUR opinions on people, having no idea what God's opinion of them is. God called..Kirk answered. The Lord doesn't tell us that we have to be someone we are Not in order to follow Him. What He did ask is that we dedicate all to Him, no matter what, when or where. The Gifts the Lord gave to Kirk have been pouring forth for decades and millions of us have been uplifted and encouraged, brought to tears and convicted by his music. We have a right to personal opinion, but should all check that opinion at the feet of Christ, lest we slander (murder) someone with our words. I am asking God for forgiveness today of ever having/expression ill opinions of those whom He loves and has called. The fact that Kirk does not allow ANY of his awards to be displayed in his home (they're in a closet) reminds me that pride comes before a fall and his heart really seems to be in the right place. He is trying. Are we all so sanctified that we daily work to overcome even just the pride of our own opinions? May the Lord help us all to dedicate every fiber of our being to that which God has called us to do, because no matter what it looks like on the outside, it is clear that Kirk Franklin is doing just that! #Blessings
