Tesla paying for the HW3 update makes total sense. Otherwise, they'd be facing a lawsuit they would surely lose after spending much more money than just going ahead with the free upgrade.

@@MrEd2291 I think they do have an obligation since the product was sold under the promise that FSD would work one day. If it does not work, it would be false advertising. I'm a Tesla bull, and I own a model Y (which I love). If I had to pay for the computer upgrade, I'd do it, without question; but I think there's a high chance of Tesla losing if it went to court. Elon is a smart guy. He likes to do the right thing, but he also likes to see his companies succeed,

ALL the analysts forgot that Tesla cut workforce by 10 and had to take a $600+ mil hit in Q2. It was obvious that Q3 will be better and Q4 will be even better with better auto deliveries and energy deployments

Short term I'm still bullish! We've gotten past the pain! Q3 was the biggest indicator of this. All these lowered COGs and Interest rates haven't bottomed...

They just need to drive around construction zones and school zones to find your edge cases. My Tesla on 12.5.4 does not know to go slow during school zones and go faster after.

I've been an investor in Nvidia for the past six years now because I strongly believe in the company and in the stock, but now I've been thinking of redistributing my portfolio of about $560k and buy other stocks. and asset classes. Maybe buy Tesla? They are also doing great things in the AI space. Some digital currencies too. What do you think?

18K loss is nothing if you are riding on big money but have the foresight to reverse and bet long. Great that TSLA turned the margins and earnings story around but lets be real, there are traders and there are long term investors and someone can be both and do very well with TSLA. The TSLA future looks very bright right now and kudos to the TSLA employees for their brilliance and execution.

I disagree that you never want to trade TSLA stock. TSLA is a traders dream stock. I have made huge amounts trading TSLA stock to the upside and downside. Only someone who never made money would say that. Even on a huge up day, if you had you finger on the pulse and reacted, you would be good. If you have your head buried in the sand, then it would be a different story. I am happy that TSLA reduced their COGS and increased margins and beat on every metric but there is no doubt it surprised everyone. There are ways to protect positions and hedge. In any event, Matt's channels is one of the great resources as well as subscribing to instant SEC reporting. Knowledge is power and wealth.

Hey Matt, remember when Tesla first showed off the new Semi & there were two of them, a bigger version & a smaller version. I wonder if they will be building the smaleer version, we haven't really heard anything about that smaller version which would be perfect for Europe & maybe several other continents.

Why wouldnt it? The numbers justify it and thats why its up again today. The company is worth far more already. revenues/profits will expand exponentially soon enough.

Don't be so glib about the firing of the Super Charger team. My personal experience was being in a meeting with my division director when he was told to be prepared to cut 30% over the next couple of years. He was great and over the next couple of years he trimmed out 30% and nobody really even noticed. Then the call comes down to make cuts and he shows I already have! They told him to cut an additional 30%. He refused and was fired. At first the division keep trucking on, but over time every talented person there left. To include me. A good friend of mine was convinced to go back. He absolutely regrets it. It's really too bad it was a great place to work. I worked there for 15 years What you learn from this kind of kneejerk commands to cut staff is to make sure you have 10+% fat so it is easier to cut. When he was told to expect a 30% cut he should have started to add fat. Over the long run it does not make you efficient.

Because of the AGI technology needed for Tesla's impressive products, I no longer see the massive upside potential for Tesla, unfortunately. It seems likely that establishing AGI in consumer products, such as the Full Self-Driving fleet of Tesla vehicles, could take around 10 to 15 years, if it ever happens. This could translate to a market cap of about five times its current valuation, excluding the hypothetical C-3PO robot product. Given this situation, investing in a strong but more stable stock with a yield of 10 to 15% seems like the better choice because of the timeframe, even if it may not be as thrilling as being a Tesla investor.

I don't understand why only 20 to 30% growth next year in deliveries. Are they sandbagging? Texas has room for additional lines and shifts. And how we will count the semi-deliveries? Can they get to 5000 semi? They have to announce another Gigafactory in first quarter after product roll outs.
