That’s insane and I’m glad this all turned out well. Some people are just greedy and dishonest. Copart should do better and allow people to view the cars in person (I’ll pay for the privilege) On another note, I’m not sure I understand how Car Vertical could have helped though. I’ve never had a report with pictures in it. I still use them but just want to make it clear, it would have made no difference here.

DISGUSTING behaviour from the person who listed this car with Copart knowing what they had done to obscure the damage hidden underneath (especially knowing that potential buyers have no ability to examine this vehicle.) Copart I believe should have more knowledge of the cars they are listing, I appreciate they are only an auction house but still. I must say though respect to Copart for collecting and fully refunding this vehicle incl fee's. They should commence Civil proceedings against the lister of this auction too in order to cause people to think twice before attempting frauds like this again.

I bought a Clio from Copart it said front end in photos it had bonnet damage & bumper was lose. No mention about any other damage I won the bid it was delievered car was covered in scratches I won't be buying from them anymore they don't describe the cars properly if copart had have listed the panel damage I would not have bought it has it needed a full respray 😠😞

Copart never want to pay out or resolve any situations. Bought a car didn’t come with the keys kicked off complained didn’t hear anything back got a key made then 2/3 weeks later they post me the key. Tried to get them to reimburse me for the key I got made with they refused? Bought another car a Mercedes someone at the yard stole the front badge. Put a claim in and they said they’d only give me 20/30 quid to buy a counterfeit one from eBay. The company’s a joke

Hi Dee you need to mention that car vertical does not always have pictures of the car I have used them several times and sometimes no picture and when I complained about no picture they pointed me towards terms and conditions also in America copart allow customers to visit copart uk have held on to the covid restrictions and then use terms and conditions to not refund customers money and you are right the virtual video that you pay is not an in depth inspection it’s just there for them to make money keep up the good wrk bro

Wouldn’t have shown up on carvertical though would it.. This is why I only F with insurance cars don’t care about unrecorded at all. Never bid if there’s no pictures of under the bonnet either my mates had same as you except there was no engine at all on a golf R… big loss. Never buy off private listings people. Only insurance and use the built in checker on copart it’s £6 to CVs 20- £30 or use another one under a tenner, check the MOT history as well a lot of people forget that.

Copart OPEN THE DOORS to the members again.To think we pay membership and all the dam silly fees on every purchase, the least they should do is let us actually look at the car in person.I have to give copart credit for sorting it out and to be honest i suggest doing all your homework on a car before purchasing it.Check additional info,check Mot history,HPI,engine lights on dash,stick with run and drive, stay away from cat U and all cars with just minor dents and scratches.If it looks to good to be true it is.Even with all that SALVAGE IS A RISK.Only risk what you can afford to lose.SALUTE TO DEE

Well the private sellers details will be with Copart ( bank details ) they need to get in touch with them give them the car back recover any costs involved and bar them from ever being able to use Copart again, anything less then a ban for that seller is not acceptable !

I’ve learnt my lesson from Copart after buying a peugeout 508, runs and drive turns out the problem this car came with was out of this world I took a big L on that car £7k if not more, anyone that mentions Copart to me I can’t help but feel scared for them cus its a very very risky game, but aye 2 years later I tried my luck again, 2017 jaguar xf listen as a none runner i did my checks before bidding and I won it for £2900 90k on clock turns out it was just a dead battery for some reason they couldn’t jump start it or someone couldn’t be bothered to do it properly I bought a new battery and the car has been working fine engine sounds brilliant, the fact it was listed as a none runner puts everyone off it. Yh I know something must be wrong for it to be there, it was categorised as stolen and recovered body work was immaculate.

Should have spent £6.00 on a Vcheck it would have flagged up when it sold in 2023 as an unrecorded mess at Wolverhampton It’s bad yes - but the truth of the matter is the buyer didn’t do their due diligence and ultimately they should be stuck with it It’s a gamble and if you don’t play it right you loose - This L should teach them a lesson £6.00 - I mean £6.00 and Vcheck Someone isn’t keeping it moving there ! Bro I’ll be honest with you last time I went to copart we waited 2h for them to drive our car out with a flat tyre, he had to move 20 cars to take our one out😂we told them to rectify the situation since the metal fork slashed the tyre making it their responsibility, we was there until 6:20. The site manager told us that they are over capacity and understaffed. He said that the new general manager came from TFL and messed up all of his shit🤣 copart staff is mostly bless but do the whatsapp video call before you buy the car because it is the best thing to do atm

There's always a reason why an unrecorded car is being put through a salvage auction, especially when its a private entry, you should know this, then paying 4.5k for a car even with the visible damage, its not even worth buying, even if you was to repair the damage you could see.
