Looks like a pretty neat project, wish I was there with you while you were building. It would be fun to talk about the parts as we were going along through it.

A buddy in the shop would be cool. I live in such a remote location, and I don't have any close neighbors, so it only happens occasionally. Meantime, my two GSDs serve that purpose.

Your retirement adventures are so enjoyable as part of them are learning to build machines that only exist in your mind. In accomplishing your projects you’re having to learn from scratch the ways of machines you’ve only thought about over your years of making a living. Thanks for sharing with us!

What feeds/speeds do you use to cut 1/8 inch plate on your plasma table
@woodandmetalshoptime80482 ай бұрын
11 ga (about 1/8") mild (A36) Hot rolled sheet, I cut at 65 ipm and 45 amps. You should do some test cuts to see what works best with your plasma torch. I have a RazorCut 45, other brands (esp. Hypertherm) seem to cut faster. FYI, 1/2 inch at 17 ipm, 3/8 at 27 ipm, 3/16 and 1/4 at 40 ipm. 16 ga at 120 ipm. All at 45A.
