Man I really like y'all I fish in Virginia we do it the same way I have used PVC pipe ,inch and a quarter pipe for the main stalk and use tee's and reducers for the branches 1 inch pipe for the branches and stuff them full with cut off limbs from trees it works great and not too heavy

We always take the real Christmas trees that people dispose of after Christmas and sink them . The green on them attracs the fish and when it's gone the brush limbs holds them

A pontoon boat works the best for dropping brush piles or if you can get ahold of 4 to 6 empty 55 gallon drums and some wood and make a little raft and pull it behind the boat with all your brush on it I did that a few times
