One detail I love is that Strange is all defensive and even sassy when the Illuminati start accusing him and calling him the real threat, but when Charles expresses his faith in him to set things right, there's such a genuine relief and gratitude in Strange's voice when he says "thank you". Sometimes all it takes is a little more faith and trust, and a little less hostility.

24:08 for me the most powerful part isn’t even Wanda seeing that her sons are safe, or that they’ve seen her as a villain. It’s that she witnesses her alternate self’s capacity for forgiveness, and realizes that she’s lost that. To me, the look on her face is one of “how did I not realize how far I’ve strayed from being *that* woman?”

This is exactly what Marvel comics were like in the 70s. The comics code had been changed to allow vampires, zombies and witchcraft, and boy did they! BTW, that Kamar-Taj woman who sacrificed herself for the Darkhold should have a statue.

The reason this feels like a horror movie is because it was directed by Sam Raimi who did the original Evil Dead movies and he would eventually go on to do the tv series. The Evil Dead also involves a very evil book called the Necronomicon ex Mortis aka the Book of the Dead. If you haven't seen them, you should check them out. Raimi learned to do a lot of his weird and tricky camera shots in those films and would eventually use them in the Spider-Man movies he made with Toby. He also used the same techniques in Drag me to Hell and now Doctor Strange MOM. Also an easter egg Raimi likes to throw in every one of his movies. He will always stick his car, an Oldsmobile Delta 88, in every one of them. It is in every Evil Dead movie and the tv seres. Drag me to Hell, The Spidey movies (Uncle Ben drove it) and it's also in this movie too. The Evil Dead remake also has it too.

I'm really glad you enjoyed this one because I feel too many people missed the boat on this one. It's exactly the kind of story Marvel was doing in the 70's and having Sam Raimi put his stylistic stamp on it was chefs kiss. It's not for everyone but it's so much fun in you're receptive to the MCU doing other things.

Multiverse of Madness catches a lot of flack but I liked it. I wanted an Evil Dead style Sam Raimi horror movie and that’s what he gave the audience. Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen both gave solid performances , even if some of the writing for Wanda is the one thing I didn’t like. The Illuminati cameos were also fun (particularly seeing Patrick Stewart back as Charles) and frankly Raimi nailed the teams’ arrogance blowing up in their faces like it often does in the comics (ie them causing the Secret Invasion storyline)

9:03 The Scarlet Witch is a "Nexus Being", meaning even though there are multiple "Wanda Maximoff" there is only one "Scarlet Witch". She can effortlessly overpower any of her variants. 9:19 For just a moment, while jumping universes, you can see The Living Tribunal. The Living Tribunal is a singularity (only one exists total, there is not one per universe), and represents multiversal law, and directly serves The One Above All (the literal God of the Marvel multiverse, which often takes the form of either Stan Lee or Jack Kirby, the creators of Marvel Comics). 9:30 For future reference, this reality/universe they landed in is "Earth-838." The MCU's main reality is "Earth-19999". Any in-movie references to Earth-19999 being "Earth-616" is just an easter egg reference to Earth-616 being the comic books' prime reality. This reference was made once before in Spider-Man: Far From Home by Quentin Beck/Mysterio. 10:15 Chekhov's Gun moment. 12:00 Detail you likely missed: When Scarlet Witch opens her eyes, they deliberately cut frames out to make her eyes look like they're opening supernaturally fast. 13:35 In the comics, the Illuminati is a secret organization comprised of the leaders of the various factions (ie. Mutants, Inhumans, Sorcerers, Avengers, etc) of superpowered people who basically represent Earth concerning cosmic matters. 14:18 The Fantastic Four are "Marvel's First Family" (the very first characters created by Marvel). Consists of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (can stretch a lot), Ben Grimm/The Thing (basically a stone version of Hulk), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (can turn self into fire), and Susan Storm/Invisible Woman (turns invisible). 14:44 We can accept you not recognizing the Fantastic Four, but the X-Men!!!??? 15:50 Prof. X, as an Omega-level telepath, can read a person's mind and intentions easily. He knows our Dr. Strange is good. 15:56 Ultron if its creation went right. 19:33 Sam Raimi's car in the background floating (Sam Raimi puts his car in ALL of his movies. It was Uncle Ben's car in the first Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movie). 24:30 Word of God from the Russo Brothers and Elizabeth Olson confirms that she is actually dead. 25:26 That third eye is the actual Eye of Agamotto (the thing the gold pendant that held the Time Stone represented). It basically grants clairvoyance. 25:35 This character is Clea, the niece of Dormammu (the being Doctor Strange defeated with a time loop in the first Doctor Strange movie).

So, the director of this movie was Sam Rami, who was the same person who directed the Toby McGuire Spider-Man movies... but more importantly to this one... he directed the Evil Dead movies, and he really brought a lot of that into this. He even brought his permanent cast member of Bruce Campbell, who has made cameos in all of the movies that he's directed (even if he isn't staring in them). Wanda in the comics isn't a hero like we've gotten through the MCU movies (for the most part). She's actually the daughter of a villain, and... trauma really _does_ seem to be her lot in life. In one universe, when her brother died, she snapped and made it so that no more mutants would ever appear in that universe. Honestly pretty wild stuff all around with her. Now... I don't think Wanda died... I think that the flash of red was her magic whisking her away... so that everyone would think that she was properly dead and would just leave her to be alone with her misery. Tragic, yeah... but a lot better than her tearing the universe apart trying to fight against it.

Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier is indeed one of the best points of the X-Men series, both the movies and cartoons. He is such a joy to watch. And yeah, this was much more of a horror movie than any other Marvel movie. I'm pretty sure most of that is due to Sam Raimi, who is a lover of the horror genre. I loved it, and loved watching your reactions! :)

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a movie that skillfully honors legendary horror and supernatural masterpieces, incorporating allusions to Carrie, IT, Twilight Zone, The Exorcist, The Ring, Drag Me To Hell, Shining, The Mist, The Grudge 2, The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II Army of Darkness, and Day Of The Dead. Sam Raimi's 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 makes a delightful appearance in all his films, which I adore. I was also thrilled to hear the theme from X-Men: The Animated Series (TV Series 1992-1997) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The battle between Doctor Strange and Sinister Strange was genuinely remarkable. During their journey across the Multiverse, Doctor Strange, and America, Chavez caught a fleeting glimpse of The Living Tribunal. Another I loved was the music in this film. Scarlet Witch is a complex and morally gray character. Overall, I enjoyed this movie.

One thing people always seem to ignore is the fact that Wanda is corrupted by the darkhold. All this bad stuff isn't her. Anyone can be corrupted by the dark hold for even just reading one page. Steve Rogers himself would go on a murder spree after reading it. Wanda spent like a year in isolation studying that book because she was told it has a chapter devoted to her and she wanted to learn about her powers so she doesn't hurt anyone by accident like in wandavision. Unfortunately this backfires and corrupts her. The darkhold likes to take your deepest desire and have you try to achieve that desire while causing the most chaos and destruction along the way. It reminds me of Anakin. He did everything he could to prevent Padme from dying and in doing so actually caused her death. Wanda wants to understand her powers to control them better and ends up losing control because of the corruption and starts hurting people again which is what she tried to avoid in the first place.

The Illuminati was pure fan service. It had Reed Richards and Prof. X from the Fox marvel films (not officially MCU canon), plus Black Bolt from the failed InHumans tv series, and alternate versions of Captain Marvel and Peggy Carter. Having John Krasinski from the Office play Reed Richards was something internet nerds had been clamoring for.. for several years. I'm not sure how well that whole Illuminati sequence works especially after learning none of those actors were in the same room together. They each green-screened their parts separately due to covid restrictions and last minute scheduling/re-shoots.

I think everybody loved the horror parts of this movie (Raimi docet) and the ingenious solutions throughout all the story (everything about zombie-Strange was absolutely genius). At the same time, many disliked how Wanda has been portraited, as we didn't really had time to see her BECOME the villain (even if she poses as the villain so many times in the comics and was on a gray line in Wandavision). And of course the Illuminati (another big thing in the comics) were so mistreated, just to offer a glimpse of fan service that in this case heavily backfired. Personally, I still find this movie highly entertaining and spectacular, despite the undeniable downfalls...

This movie really was about "MoM!" America's moms, and being a mom. Take out any of those factors and the movie does not happen! Pizza Ball guy (who punches himself in the movie) is played by Bruce Campbell, who has a lot of collaborative (and somewhat comedic and horrific) films with Sam Raimi. All the way back to the 80s, with Evil Dead (watch the 2nd and 3rd movies in that series... they are more fun than horrific) and even into the Spider-Man movies with Tobey Maguire!

The Fantastic Four is Marvel's First Family. One of the first books to come out after the introduction of Spider-Man in Amazing Fantasy vol. 1 #15. Scientist Reed Richards, his girlfriend Susan Storm, her brother Johnny Storm and Reed's college friend Benjamin Grimm were attempting to study Cosmic Radiation via a rocket of Reed's design. They all ended up being exposed to the cosmic rays resulting in superpowers based on their personalities. Reed Richards was always trying to expand his understanding so he became super malleable able to stretch his body taking on the name Mr. Fantastic. Susan Storm felt that no one paid her attention so she became The Invisible Woman. Johnny was a bit of a hothead with his temper so he became the Human Torch. Ben Grimm was a tough strong football player he became the rocky Thing. Together they became known as the Fantastic Four. First appearance Fantastic Four vol. 1 #1. November 1961 - Writer Stan Lee, Artist Jack Kirby. 😅 "Eyeliner" is Clea a sorceress and love interest for Dr. Strange. Also the niece of the Dread Dormammu of the Dark Dimension. 😮

So Spider-Man gets introduced in Amazing Fantasy #15 August 1962 just before it got cancelled. It's cancellation determined before his appearance. Iron Man in Tales of Suspense #39 March 1963. Ant-Man in Tales to Astonish #27 in January 1962. Thor in Journey into Mystery #83 August 1962. All of these heroes appeared in publications that proceeded before the Marvel Superhero era began. The Fantastic Four appeared first in their own title dedicated to them exclusively in November 1961. Which predated all of the above. It was my understanding that Stan Lee was unhappy with the direction of Marvel comics at the time and it was his wife Joanie who talked him into doing a book that he wanted to do and since they were cancelling Amazing Fantasy anyways he had nothing to lose by slipping a superhero appearance in. So hence my surprise that FF predated that. Weird. 😮

In the small portions we got to see him in Infinity War/ Endgame, it was much better. I wasn't sure what to expect from a Strange sequel but once I heard it was going to be Raimi at the helm, I was all in. Did not disappoint at all. After Robbie takes it back to the Dark Dimension, it apparently falls into the hands of the witch Morgan Le Fay, who brings it to Earth again in Marvel's Runaways. After Morgan is defeated, it apparently fell into the hands of Agatha Harkness, then Wanda Maximoff.

I love it but I'm biased. I knew some comic stuff as a kid. Mostly X-Men but I knew who Doctor Strange was and he was my favorite. Or the idea of him. The stories weren't always the best. The character reminded me of Johnny Tremain which as a kid I thought was a real profound book. I would not be surprised if I was told that was inspiration. Then add all these larger than life things he is involved in and the big magical powers. And then? I am huge fan of Sam Raimi. So yeah, I was sold before I even watched it. Else it is a fun wild ride and keeps that pace from start to finish.

The title of this film is a little deceptive and sets up certain expectations that don't quite get met, as the multiverse is hardly explored, and even then, it's treated more as a setting or plot device than the whole point of the movie. But I like to interpret the title of the movie like the title of the old kid's show "Bear in the Big Blue House". The Big Blue House is merely the setting, much the Multiverse of Madness is, but the show is about Bear, and the movie is about Doctor Strange.

You might want to checkout the xmen movies before you get to the Deadpool movie that is coming out in July because if you didnt know it that one will be a part of the MCU

Unpopular opinion, my favourite MCU movie. it checked off so many boxes for me: - the growing bond between America and Stephen made my heart melt - quick, witty humor and snarkiness - amazing fight scenes - good acting and emotion - awesome new character and concept introductions - cameos and easter eggs - horror elements, suspense and jumpscares etc. - brutal slaughtering of heroes - manages to reach out and explore new concepts in the mcu without really tying much into the main cinematic world that's already been established

This is a fantastic movie. Remember it’s made by the classic horror movie Director Sam Rami. Zombie Strange with the cape of demons is incredible!

This movie has Sam Raimi's signature all over it. I love Sam Raimi but I think he's a little bit let down by the script aka the writing for this movie. My problems with this movie are : - Sam Raimi's done horror movies and this movie was trying to be a horror movie. But IMHO it felt a little bit half-baked since the audience went into this movie after Wandavision. There's no way the audience would see Wanda as the main antagonist/villain after Wandavision. If anything, it made the audience confused on how to feel about Wanda in this movie. - The Illuminati was a nice nice fan service but they were defeated way too easy by 838 Wanda who's being dreamwalked by 616 Scarlet Witch. Please notice what I did there in my sentence, IMO it was a mess. 838 Wanda presumably wasn't even a Scarlet Witch (no black fingers, no SW outfit) but she massacred some of the most powerful supes (Prof. X, Captain Marvel and Black Bolt). Remember, Scarlet Witch is an upgraded version of Wanda but 838 Wanda presumably wasn't a Scarlet Witch. I get that it's about shock value going forward and it was to showcase how OP Wanda is, but it is poorly written. - The dreamwalking rules should've been more clear. Does 616 Scarlet Witch's power level transfer over when dreamwalking ??? If yes, then it explains why dreamwalked 838 Wanda able to massacre the Illuminati single-handedly. But it looked like it's not since there's no visual cue that 838 Wanda was a Scarlet Witch (black fingers and SW outfit). - But even if the above is true, how did Wanda alter Black Bolt's mouth ??? Yes, Wanda can alter reality in the comics but this is MCU, not the comics. The rules for Wanda to be able to alter reality in MCU was that it has to be done INSIDE THE HEX that Wanda created. And that hex was created with an immense amount of grief (emotional energy), it's not something that Wanda can easily conjure. But 838 Wanda shut Black Bolt's mouth effortlessly without conjuring anything. This is so messy !!! - And why didn't Maria Rambeau and Captain Carter attack Wanda immediately after Black Bolt's dead and let her spaghettify Reed Richards instead ??? The Illuminati is suppose to be a super team better than Avengers and they were so amateurish instead. Reed Richards is suppose to be the smartest man alive but somehow made a mistake/error of judgement that costed the 838 universe its best superheroes. - I don't like how this was a Dr. Strange movie but it wasn't Strange that deliver the knockout blow to the main antagonist/villain. - I also don't like how America Chavez's power/energy was able to match Scarlet Witch's Chaos Magic power/energy like they're on the same power level. They are not equal, Scarlet Witch is an overpowered character and if there's going to be someone that can equal a Scarlet Witch power, I prefer characters from one of X-Men instead of America. But yeah, I know they wanna make Young Avengers a thing in MCU, hence why America needs to be as powerful as Wanda. - I don't like how the movie ends with Wanda "terminating" herself and how she destroyed all copies of the Darkhold in every universe before "terminating" herself. A Scarlet Witch (a being that's been told as an overpowered being) is just going to terminate easily under the rubbles of a top of a mountain ??? The audience was suppose to believe that ??? What the audience actually believe was that it's lazy writing. This movie is certainly problematic. It has questionable writing and I'm very disappointed that it's been written with such mess. It was underwhelming. Period.

I know nothing about the comics, but the way they treated Wanda in this movie really turned me off. She was one of my favorite characters.

Totally understandable. You’re right, knowledge of the comics will teach you Wanda can do some very horrible things. The no more mutants story….that’s a big one. And if they do that in the movies it’ll be insane.

For me this film was where marvel started to lose the balance of interconnectivity within their films and shows. Wandavision was so good but this rewrites a lot of it which is such a shame.

Can you please react to the Saban’s Power Rangers 2017 Movie!!! It is a very goooood movie. You may look at the name and think it is childish and cheesy. But it is hilarious and shows the growth of friendship and trustworthy. I swear it is a must watch.❤❤❤

How dare you cut Pizza Poppa’s big scene! lol Hope you keep the after credits one! Edit- NOOOOO! Why do hate Pizza Poppa so much? He only wanted to be paid for his pizza balls and Strange did him wrong. But you mainstream reactors won’t show that because it goes against the narrative. (Please don’t take any of this seriously.)

Oh, no. Watoomb is about travel between different dimensions, but all in the same timeline, not travel between parallel worlds, so he would have just made the movie much more confusing.
