Thanks for your review. I bought a pair of Torin 4's and loved them from the first run. Great to see they last over 1,000 miles! Funny but they are the only shoes I've owned where I don't feel the need to double knot the laces. :)
@ThePlantPoweredRunner4 жыл бұрын
Awesome. I love them as well and they are still in great shape. I wish I didn't have to double-knot them..lol

I love my altras. I live on an Island off the south coast of the UK, so our weather is mild (I can't remember when it last snowed) and wet. My road runners are the altra paradigm. I have a couple off road pairs to. I love the zero drop and in the summer I love to run in my vibram 5 toes.

I watched a video about reversing the way you tie your shoes when you make the knot. Helps tremendously with keeping shoes from becoming untied! Love this shoe as well for shorter miles. It’s harder to run in long mile runs I’ve found would be the main downside but I love the lock in and wide toebox. When taking out the sole they also work well with correct toes( toe spacers). I’ve bought 3 pairs of this shoe lol

Thanks for sharing! I'll be getting some more soon. I've got over 2000k in my now and they are still good however the tread is starting to go..LOL. How is your training going?
@richardespinoza44444 жыл бұрын
The Plant Powered Runner Training is going great! That’s a lot of miles in one shoe. Very nice! I’m also liking the provision 4 by the way. Worth a try. I’m glad my training is going well because I had a pretty bad bone spur injury for about 3 years and it’s finally healed thanks to physical therapy and working on running technique, especially cadence!
@ThePlantPoweredRunner4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I do have a lot of miles in the shoe. Even more now. Going to be getting a few new ones soon. Bone spur...Yikes. that must have been painful. What kind of mileage are you doing now?

@@richardespinoza4444 Hi! I suffer of platar fasciitis and so far, havent been able to rid off it! I had to stop running and now i only do short walks. What kind of physical therapy worked for you? Did you get shockwave therapy, PRP, acupunture? Would you recommend custom made insoles? Any advice you could give me, will be very much appreciated!!
@richardespinoza44444 жыл бұрын
berny navidad I haven’t had that myself but I would recommend trying out an r3 for one. It’s a roller for your feet. It’s cheap and feels great on the feet. Things that I did with physical therapy were focused on building muscles in the legs with body weight exercises. Hip flexors, hamstrings, calves, growing, and also ankle strength exercises as well. It takes time and patience for sure. Wish you the best!

What a glowing review! The durability is a big plus! I've been thinking about trying out a zero drop shoe. currently run in shoes with 6-8mm drop shoes. running barefoot on the beach has never been a problem, why would cushioned zero drop be a problem? I've been considering the Escalantes. as well, but honestly I want some decent cushioning with responsiveness, and the wide toe-box is appealing as well. With Torins I could probably put in longer distances in more comfort.
@ThePlantPoweredRunner4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I was the same a number of years ago. I was running in shoes with 8 mm and had all kinds of issues. These are a dream to run in. Long or short its just awesome. I have about 1850km in these so far and they are still great to run in.

I'm curious to know how you transitioned to these shoes... I got a pair a few months back, and killed my hip going from Saucony guide to these. so I had to stop... now I'm doing them half half with my guides
@ThePlantPoweredRunner4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question Marc. I use to run in Saucony and it was great at first. I liked them alot however over time I found I would bust out of them after only 2 months. My feet are wide and my toes did not like it at all. Now, on to the Altra Torin. I decided I would have to go slow and build up to the zero drop so I slowly added them to the rotation. I ran 5km in them the first run I realized that I needed to go slow. 3 times a week I would run in them and I would also do 1km on the grass barefoot to help. MY CALVES OMG!!!!! However , over a two week period I was able to run full time in them. I hope this helps.

I've bought a pair of Torins 4 last year during summer. First I loved them very much but after a rainy training half marathon they started squeaking as hell. At the moment I'm running wih Altra Escalante, Altra Superior and New Balance 890s but none of them is squeaking. Probably it's just an issue with my shoes and other Torins are OK.

Fair enough! Thanks for comment!!! I'm happy to see your still running in Altras. How is your training going?

My Torin 4's are easily my favourite running shoes ever. Question. Do I buy another pair while I can or trust that the Torin 4.5s that they have promised for next year will be as good. The struggle is real.

I am having big issues with plantar fasciitis, im wearing bondi 6, skechers max cushioning, adidas ultraboost ST, asics kayano, but still in a lot of pain. Would like to try zero drop shoes with great cushioning, i supinate, do you think i should go for torin or for paradigm? Hope you can help me! Thank you very much in advance!
@ThePlantPoweredRunner4 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm, very good question. I would go with the paradigm. I have the torin (neutral shoe). Now, you have to remember I'm a neutral runner dude and have not had plantar fasciitis so I know the pain you are in but I do know it sucks! Let me know how it works out for you!

Do these fit true true size? I have tried zero drop briefly but my calves were killing me the day after. How long is the transition period? Im coming from a 5mm Hoka so its not too big of a transition.
@ThePlantPoweredRunner4 жыл бұрын
Zero drop with make you work your calfs. They will be sore while you adjust. Don't start of running too far.], just a few miles every few days. It' took me a few weeks then I was good to go. They will fit a bit bigger I find. You might want to check out their website for the sizing.
