Duckhunt is like the most mysterious character in the game, no real idea what this dog can do outside of some big brain can set ups Update: Silin was as good as ever but I remain confused about what makes DH good

That’s the thing: he isn’t that good. Lower-mid tier or even low tier, like Silin said. Having three projectiles and a frame one combo breaker are great tools, though.

As a duck hunt main i can tell you, he isnt that good he just requires a lot of dedication to learn to get into elite. He has incredible pressure and he has very strange interactions with various characters. Your main advantage is no one knows how to react to you or any of your setup, and you can absolutely dominate heavies with sideB. You can side B a few times into a double spike against most characters, you are hard to grab, side smash he actually ducks and shrinks his hitbox ignoring some projectiles or attacks. He is just a REALLY weird character to play let alone get good with. I hover in the 7-9 mil range and i cant get him into elite like my other mains like Krool (god tier character) or Paranha plant (Super god tier) but if you love strange out of the box characters he is your dog (and duck)...(and gunmen)...(and offscreen shooter)

I was a Duck Hunt Main in Smash 4 and picked him because of Duck Hunt being the first game i've ever played, yet i had give up on him on Ultimate because of how much effort it took me to make him work. Now i switched to Maining Mario instead, and my results have been more positively consistent ...
