Hi Kayla! I love watching your videos! They are so real and relatable! You are the only KZbinr showing the good and the bad and you make others not feel so alone ❤️ My baby girl is 3 weeks older than Jackson and I watch your videos religiously lol I sooo appreciate you uploading so often! when jackson/riley was like 7-8months old , if you did a road trip or even a short one, howd you manage when baby is like screaming/crying too much for like too long, do you stop somewhere when you cant make them stop crying in their carseat? its uncomfortable when you think other people in their own cars could hear the baby crying. lol.

My husband doesn't really talk on car rides. 😕 Luke also hates when the car isn't moving.😬 Always McDonald's: "Our ice cream machine is broken."😐
@philippapay43524 жыл бұрын
People who work in environments where they do not talk or do not talk to other adults usually need to talk or just learn to never say anything at all. LOL. I should not say this probably because it makes me sound like a sadist. But your kids are so cute and funny that I enjoy watching this even though it is torture for you and any of us going through it because we are trying to anticipate and fend off any disaster lying in wait. Being on the road is so tough. I feel confident in saying it is way more fun to watch than have to coordinate and live through. LOL. Riley is more or less old enough to know a car ride is taking her somewhere and that's generally a good thing and if she wants to go places and visit people she must behave. On the other hand Jackson is too young to really connect all of that yet, except he may recognize people and places once you get out of the vehicle. But, I can imagine a child his age thinking, "OK, so we've driven around for hours on end. Enough already!" He will not particularly relate that to Mimi showing up or going swimming or seeing animals or getting the best ice cream cone east of the Mississippi. My sister and I were talking the other day and we still follow certain rules our mother had when we were kids. We never leave anywhere for a car ride that we do not go to the bathroom first, whether we think we need to go or not. It has served us well over the decades to have listened to our mother. LOL. We never distract the driver, either. And we supply ourselves appropriately for the duration. Has Riley done any potty-training yet? Did she add any foods to her palate's tolerance during the holiday trip? You are right that you have to have toys, snacks, and screen apps to keep them active and not getting stuff all over the car during the actual ride. Yes, ma'am, washable clothes for you and the kids. Everything needs to be able to be bagged and ready for the soaking tub in the laundry room when you get home just in case of vomiting, blow-outs, spills. One of my older relatives was telling me about a man on an old-timey TV show who gave away big money and the lead-in said something about "...when you least expect it," and I just said, "Yeah, yeah, when I least expect it I do not get cheques for huge sums; I get volumes of poop-y blowouts or projectile vomiting!" I try to prepare for anything and never understand people who blithely throw the kids in the car and barely check to be sure they even have their driver's license with them. I am not wired that way. But then, when I lived in Los Angeles for 5 years, when I went out say in the evening or on a weekend I always took a bathing suit, a resume, and my passport just in case. We were not that far from Mexico and might decide to go out in a boat that would stray into Mexican waters, anywhere could have a pool and people could decide to take a dip, and I was growing my career so you never know when you may meet someone who would have an interest in your abilities. When I enter a building that's new to me, I immediately scout for the fire exits, the water fountains, and the bathrooms. I guess I figure if I can hydrate, eliminate and escape a deadly fire, I'll be OK. I should have been a Boy Scout. Their motto is "Be Prepared." It is a good thing to pass onto your children and expect of them as they grow, that they learn how to prepare themselves for school, vacation, etc. What is not OK is that you pass on unreasonable nervousness about things that are unlikely to occur, like the balcony at the beach condo collapsing. But you were brave and went out and sat against the condo wall and looked out. So, that's a start. There are places out West where you must be prepared for possible encounters with coyotes or rattlesnakes. That's reasonable there. Back East it's more like poison ivy and wasp stings that can cause real harm quickly, so you need to be prepared. In California, residents and those in the hospitality industries do not put things on the walls above a bed or dining table in a restaurant that are large or heavy due to the serious potential for earthquake. You may find a tapestry hung that doesn't weigh much of anything, but no bookcases or shelving with glassware, etc. This is reasonable prep for the inevitable and fairly frequent occurrences. Good tip about ordering InstaCart or whatever on the way home. THX.
