Its the reload cancel tactic, all pros use it. pay attention on his reloads, and you'll ALWAYS see a quick "switch, and switch back" with his weapons. Apparently with the DBS it looks EXTRA crazy... Nothing out of the ordinary though.

Arm take less damage imagens you are shot his chest for example you have mini clean chest shot 33 but punch the air bullet hits hand 13 damage under the elbow 22 damage
