Patrick, I have such a love/hate relationship with your plant shopping videos. They make me so happy seeing all the lush, gorgeous greenery. And then I remember that I live in Alaska and the selection here is soooo limited. Even if you buy on-line, there is usually rehab time after they arrive. I won't even start with the hoops we have to jump though for lighting during the winter! Does it stop me from buying and growing plants? No.... but I surely am envious of your access to selection and availability (and prices!) Very much enjoy your channel!

lol the benefits of living in Cali honestly. For me to get a gorgeous heart leaf philodendron that sized i would have to buy one near that size and wait a year paying probably just under $100 for the pot. Fortunately for me though i got a small pot of cuttings for $5! So yay me lol. I know they'll be alive for a long time and eventually ill have so many to give away one day, so im still grateful for it.

Bromeliads are fun and great to grow. I use a good orchid mix, I add spahgum peat moss and some plant charcoal to my mixture. I water once weekly. I have a lot of them and they are one of my favorites to grow!

Gosh those philodendron micans and the pothos in the hanging baskets😥😱💢💖"I'll take 2 of each!" 😅And for Mother's Day 2 cacti for 5 dollars and succulents 2 dollars! What!😯🙌💖I also loved the cordylines and ctenanthe🥰🙏I have the calathea makoyana and it has been an easy plant to grow for me. I really want a Maranta lemon lime, and like you I love Marantas. I have a nursery in south Texas. I have to say "fair pricing" is relative. I've been to trade shows, spent countless hours on the phone and driven to nurseries all over Texas. Are you in Florida or california? If you're anywhere else, availability, pricing and freight are all huge hurdles that dictate price. On one of my last orders, I paid $13 per plant in freight (price set by freight company not plant suppliers).

@@Patadendron down here we are small time compared to west coast and Florida but some of our commonly used landscape plants are desirable in other places. You can find split leaf phodendron, Xanadu, monstera del., draceana marg, schefflera and bird of paradise in 3g for under $20 at almost any nursery here.

My family has huge full trailing pothos and ive been trying to figure out what it is. It is either a golden pothos or a hawaiian pothos, but they're so close to each other that i just don't know. I get more confused looking at them in all forms of reference. Got myself a monstera deliciosa

Hi! Golden pothos will eventually grow big 😁. I bought a small 4" pothos few years back and had it climb up. Now I have big leaves like the Hawaiin pothos🤗

Yes! They will grow big when trained to climb! Some even say that Hawaiian pothos is the same as golden just grown in conditions conducive to growing large leaves!

@@Patadendron That makes a lot more sense now, because whenever my plant develops new leaves in more light the new leaves are golden, but then they start to turn white like the hawaiian pothos. Wow I'm gonna have to convince someone to drive up there at some point, bc $25 on the 8" maranta, or $12 for those calathea? I mean really everything…The local Vons here (San Diego) sells similarly-sized plants for $25 - $35! And legit for the same size. That maranta would be $49.99 at frickin RALPHS, my God. Trippin lol 😂 - but at least they're trying to branch out from generic peace lilies & Lucky bamboo in the floral section. So many other businesses, many of them corporations, are shooting themselves in the feet with respect to their local competition. Even though I love Armstrong, for example, I feel like you have to have serious side-eye when you go in there & take it all w a grain of salt. It's honestly kind of comical sometimes how these businesses stick their "competitively pricing," despite knowing you can get a high-quality product; never thought the same thing would be true, for the grocery store, now. 🤣😞

This monsters is not a good deal sure they got ginormous leaves but thst slso means they must have some age aleady the ones i got are way younger id (4 to the prize of one lol) and the 5th leaf got the windows. One has t fenestration the other 3 The other two plants are to young one cMe just out of a seed and the other was supressed by the bigger two as i said i technicly bought 4 to the prize of one so they whdre all in one planting pot and i had to seperate them. Bit the supressed one recovers good
