Im two yrs late but as a preschool teacher, I observed that Siho is well-raised even though he's very young. Considering that her mom was always on his side and his dad was very busy, her mom really did a great job raising him with a toddler. To the time he gets the diapers and wet wipes for his sibling, to crying for his dad when he's pranking him and lastly hugging both of his parents. I swear, with his attitude and good looks this boy will be so popular in the future.

A dad doesn’t ‘babysit’ their own kids... a dad is being a parent. Would you say a mother is ‘babysitting’ her kids when she is caring for them? You ‘babysit’ other people’s kids, you parent your own! My husband absolutely hates when people see him with our boys and asks “oh are you babysitting today” ... “No! I’m being their father!”

I guess it could be interpreted that way depending on the person reading it, my intention is to point out that men and women are (or should be seen as) equal in parenthood, so it’s derogatory and demeaning to reduce a father’s role to ‘babysitter’ as opposed to ‘parent’ or ‘father’... it’s not fair and I also pointed out how it annoyed my husband because he takes care of and parents our boys as much as I do, we discuss things and listen to each other and raise our children together... he’s not a babysitter... he’s a father 🤗

it’s probably a mistranslation, pretty sure they meant to say “took care” just like the subs in 6:55 at 0:31 the korean word is “육아” which means parenting, but in the subs they put babysitting, so yeah im sure its just mistranslation :)

For people who commented on Siho's ep about the word 'babysitting' and 'parenting', the word 'yuk-ah' means parenting in Korean, and was mistranslated into English. Because no parent will say 'I am parenting tonight', and most commonly they say I am 'looking after/taking care of the children tonight', which translates, in Korean, to babysitting. So, no, they are not saying that dads cannot parent, it's simply a mistake due to mistranslation and differences in the common usage of the word in English.
