This was a playoff atmosphere... All along you could feel the intensity of the game. The fact that the Cavs won despite DM not being effective tells that the Cavs are for real..

It really shows how well rounded the team is. They don’t need Mitchell dropping 30 to win.

luv how these teams move the ball, make quick decisions, look for the better shot, play help defense, stay disciplined when defending, attack the basket, know their roles and play with clear objective in mind. if you've ever wondered why some players only thrive on losing teams and some organizations rarely play deep into the playoffs, it's nicely spelled out for us when watching this game's highlights. some players usually the very skilled, highly coveted, talented ones play for an ego high. and too many organizations are suckers for that type of player. and. too many organizations dont know how to determine what the characteristics of a quality gm should look like. and from that flawed beginning we end up with poor coaching staffs, mismatched players, unclear objectives, bad contracts, lack of accountability, random basketball and a string of losing seasons. the spurs are a great historical example. they did not always get this right. they tried the shortcut method after landing david robinson by adding rodman. it was a mess. cuz you dont build with a player like bulls rodman (pistons rodman, yes). if your culture is strong (jordan, jackson) and you've already won (like the bulls had) then you can add bulls rodman. popovich and the spurs rfd that all up. but. they learned shipped him out and got back to what popovich already knew. read that spurs history starting from rodman on. you'll see how they got away from what they needed to keep the focus on but recovered. strangely, this could happen again if the current decisionmakers are not paying attention to the details of the step by step process needed to build up into winning. cavs hired gansey who brought in atkinson. altman was a pretty good hire but gansey was the key bcuz getting the hc gig right is critical. if you look at altman's resume he sorta did things the risk averse (shortcut) way. his early moves were meh. but he drafts well. and he hires well. and bottom line - president of basketball operations, gm and hc must hav a common big picture and philosophy in mind. and the cavs and okc do. having a squad full of nba-talent players is woefully not enough. that's minimum shi.

Going up for a shot when your defender has his hand in the cookie jar is smart it’s not flopping and he gets hacked a lot more then you think he leads the league in drives to the rim ofc he’s gonna get fouled there is plenty of instances each game he gets fouled and they don’t call it
