head cannon. the killer is actually dead but like in scream someone always takes up the mantle, and the reason why he killed everyone including the girl is because they left him. he probably put the mask on to keep himself from breathing in the smoke but still died anyway from the burns. the jock was the arsonist which makes sense why he died like he did. and I bet the gift he got the girl was a gnome which is why they appear so much in the game.

has anyone else heard the rhyme about magpies? one for sorrow two for mirth three for death four for birth (and so on and so forth, there are different versions of the rhyme too but it just replaces three and four) for some reason it really is sticking with me, all of the times we see corvids in the game its a single one or a trio, except for 17:43 where we only get a short clip of some birds flying away, nine is for a kiss so there was probably more than just nine, i assume 13 because "13 beware its the devil himself" and that would fit with the game. there is a scene where therr is only two though (mirth??) and another moment where theres six (gold) so maybe im over analyzing it
