There were Jewish Palestinians and Arab Palestinians of the British Mandate. The plan was to split it up as the British left. What connects me to you all is because of 3 reasons: 1. My grandfather studied in Lahore during pre-partition period, 2. Politics might have intervened so that people who don't remember history now think of "Pakistani" and "Indian" foods as separate things, but that is not our history or tradition and all of these foods were once eaten side by side . . . and hopefully will be again.

@@stephenfisher3721 I beg to differ, there are many genuine Pakistani restaurants here in the USA, and they advertise as such. The ones you are referring to also mention “Indian/Pakistani restaurant”. Also, it depends what part of USA you are located at. Chicago,New York and Houston are some of the places where you will find genuine Pakistani restaurants.😊😊

@@makanmata I clearly made the distinction between Pakistani(meat based) and Indian(mostly vegetarian). I have Indian coworkers who do not eat Pakistani food because it contains meat. Please stop spreading stuff which has nothing to do with reality. As for traditions, don’t even start , because Indian and Pakistani traditions are like two magnet poles. Peace…

@ 8:14 correction: It was NOT one country before 1947. But the fact is that entire region of the subcontinent consisted of (plus, minus) 800 small and large independent princely states like Europe is today. Most of these states had their own Banks, governmental system, military Forces etc. And those independent states used to report to Queen of England directly via Viceroy of the region. The fact is those multiple independent princely states got unified first time into two independent dominions after 1947 such as Pakistan and India, initially., multiple independent States of the region got unified into two major dominions on the basis of set principle that only got possible after 1947. The only difference was that the resident of those princely States had free movement from state to state, like we see today in UAE and/or EU (European Union) that those independent states give free access to their residents for free movement. Instead of using term "partition" of the region we must use the correct term as "unification" of the region and its resources after 1947. "Unification" of the region is factually a correct term.
