The early 90s. When you could park for free at The Contemporary and take the Monorail line to a low crowd MK and Epcot. At the end of the day you come back to a quiet no crowd, no traffic parking lot. Today's upload has got me missing my dad, who worked for the company. Remembering a moment we had in the Penny Arcade. Good memories.

Same here about the parking. And if it was a nice day, you could just walk from the Contemporary to the MK front gate. I actually preferred to park at the Polynesian as I liked the atmosphere better there. Also, the breakfast buffet was better than the one at the Contemporary IMO. Occasionally, I would park at the guest parking lot of Fort Wilderness, take the bus in, then grab the launch to the dock at the MK. But I think the best memories I had was going to River Country back in the late 70s as a little kid. It was a dump load of fun. But I understand the safety reasons why they had to close. Just miss the place is all. Fun Fact: If you zoom in as close as you can get on Google Maps, you can still see the abandoned areas of River Country. Its a mess these days, but you can still discern the tube river, the slides and the pool area.

The prices go up to control the everyday clients...ok. The quality of everything still good... But I think the major disney problem today is manager the crowd in the parks . The app to see the lines is good but not sufficient. The cut lines program needs to have less people. The ultimate not capitalist solution is cut the inside public in half...in MK of course. Everyone could remark there's travel to next 8 or12 mouths to keep the magic... with no problem.

I wish I could go into one old video and not see some guy complaining about the “good old days”. As a child who went to Disney in the 90’s, driving through the south was a nightmare as a non white person. We were stared at everywhere, and no one said hi to us. So yeah, race relations are much better today, we have better medicine, better information on health, more women in government, access to instantaneous information and communication. This is the best time to be alive and be who you want to be. As I always say, the past is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there.

Disney was so full of positive energy and the “Walt Disney Magic” back then. I’ll give Michael Eisner credit for the way he handled everything during his tenure. Disney parks, films, and shows had a certain draw to them that they absolutely lack today. Disney has lost the ability to be the magical place for families because they can’t find the right person to be at the helm.

Had my honeymoon here in 1992. Returned in 2022 with family to celebrate anniversary and was longing for the old days 5 minutes after entering the parks. The magic and wonderment of visiting WDW has unfortunately been pushed aside in favor of greed and politicking, two things that ruin the Disney experience in my opinion. We go to the(not based in reality)parks to escape this garbage Disney execs and shareholders!!! I mean you purchase tickets, as example, for the park(s), but now are expected to pay extra for things like rides that you already purchased with paid admission? Really! Instead of expanding all the parks, long overdue by the way, to ease all the current issues such as wait times, Disney is just choosing to price gouge consumers. I mean It’s the only profitable part of Disney’s portfolio and they clearly are getting away with it due to consumers/fans who are just so blind to being ripped off or are just plain stupid. Not to bright people. To everyone’s point in the comments who have experienced the real Disney magic, it really isn’t fun or enjoyable anymore visiting WDW, and worst of all, these are now the memories being created for families globally. Disney needs to get back to its roots, putting its clients experience first, which will affect, oh yeah, the bottom line in a positive way. As for me, it’s just time to turn the smart consumers tables and hit Disney parks in their wallets for a change, spending my hard earned capital elsewhere. So sad I have to say this but “Universal here we come, and I hope it really is EPIC!”. Get your act together Disney!!!
