First of all, english is not my main language, so if it's feel aggressive, i'm sorry, it's not why I writing this comment. ^^' I'm platinum, so I still have a lot to learn, and trust me I tryhard for. This way, I checked your video to get a better early. But, I don't understand why there is no 3-cost in level 4 comps. Drops give 3-cost frequently, and I'm pretty sure it's important to use them to have the most powerful board, based on items of course. That's why I take all of this, and MetaTFT either, with a grain of salt. When I see on MetaTFT the best Stage 2 comp is : Ashe/Elise/Syndra/Mordekaiser (4 Eldritch), and it seems Ashe/Blitzcrank/Syndra/Mordekaiser (3 Eldritch/2 Vanguard) would be a better one just with a minor modification. It seems weird to me. Feels like it's not exhaustive, and even if it was it's not human usable because it's way too much to remember. So, my question is, what the point to all of this ? Is this give us an archetype of what works and what doesn't ? Then why not just talk with traits ? I know some units are better than others, and it's important to swap units to keep a powerful comp. I'm a bit lost. 😅 Thx ! 😁
@LearningTFT
@LearningTFT Ай бұрын
The data is based on a reasonable sample size of units, so including 3-costs is challenging for Stage 2. In addition, 1-star 3 costs are usually inferior to 2-star 1 costs and pretty much always inferior to 2-star 2 costs, so 3 costs are far less reliable than 1 and 2 costs when trying to build a consistently strong Stage 2 and 3 board. Like you said, the number of permutations is way larger than what's even mentioned here, so we're trying to get a general sense of what's strong in the early game. That's the point of putting together the early game unit tier lists, particular at 1 and 2 cost.
@XiothTV
@XiothTV Ай бұрын
@@LearningTFT Wow ! Didn't know that about 3-cost ! I checked that with units stats, and it's mind blowing. According to the champion stats I found on tftactics : 1-star Ashe/Nomsy/Jayce/Twitch : 35 DPS 2-star Ashe/Nomsy/Jayce/Twitch : 63 DPS None 3-cost 1-star is close to this (max is 45), and it's almost equal to Smolder (64 DPS). I'm pretty sure the DPS is only the auto-attacks, without spells. That why I took AD units, which are more representative I think. However, the same works for defensive stats, so it seems to be a general rule. Impressive. I really thought 3-cost (1-star) was more powerful than this. I'll pay attention in the future. Thanks a lot ! :D

Sure! My friends and I started a mobile gaming startup back in 2008 when the iPhone app store first launched. I was coming out of school then. We shipped a chess puzzles app in the first month of the app store launch. It hit Top 25 in the app store. And we made a bunch more casual games, something like 75 apps that hit Top 25 in the app store. We eventually tried to pivot to more midcore/strategy games (since that's what I love), but the market wasn't really ready back then. We even shipped a tactics game that was a precursor to clash royale & TFT, but we were again too early to the market and we didn't understand the value of async battles at that point (it wasn't really a standard model yet). We grew the team to around 40 employees and we eventually sold the company to one of the top mobile gaming publishers at the time.

Winning the early stages (2-3) can be good( you save HP and maybe can be in a win streak) but isn't being in a lose streak more easier. In my experience (just a plat player here talking) I've had good success los streak early stages then trying to win early stages to gain tempo. I feel like HP isnt very important in the early stages in TFT. I know I'm bad at the early game because my decision making is very slow and I can't exactly tell if I need to level up to preserve my win streak.
@LearningTFT
@LearningTFT Ай бұрын
Yes, lose streaking is easier since you don't need to think. You can just full open and sac stage 2. But win streaking gives you more gold, preserves hp, and sets you up for an easier game. In general, if you're streaking, it's worth leveling to preserve streak if you think it'll make a fight diff (though this depends on scouting and being able to predict fights).

Thanks for your feedback! It's taking me a while to put together the research, record, and publish, so unfortunately I don't have much more time to edit. If at some point, these videos get more popular and the ad revenue can cover the cost of an editor, I'll hire one. Sorry about the length! I'm prioritizing being thorough over being concise atm. Perhaps my priorities might change down the road, but right now the focus is on using my learning process to help me get better at TFT while sharing it with all of you. But the priority could change at some point to focus on video quality over trying to maintain a challenger rank.
