The dusk is down on the river meadows, The moon is climbing above the fir, The lane is crowded with creeping shadows, The gorse is only a distant blur; The last of the light is almost gone, But hark! They're running! They're running on ! The count of the years is steadily growing; The Old give way to the eager Young; Far on the hill is the horn still blowing, Far on the steep are the hounds still strung. Good men follow the good men gone; And hark! They're running! They're running on!

I am getting repetitive in my commenting on your posts, but I am continually impressed by the quality of your partnership with Tonik. He really does take it all in his stride and makes it look so easy, but that will be testament to your calm, sympathetic, encouraging style of training and riding. Perhaps with a different rider he would perform in a much greener fashion? As I've said before, Tonic seems so steady and mature considering how young he still is. I remember watching what was, I think, the first time you rode him away from home and you rode through the woods on a very loose rein, popped a few logs and things, really to find out what he was like, and it has been onwards and upwards ever since.
@msgpoloeventing Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching the channel for that long ! - yes I remember going round the wood on him the first time and I couldn’t believe how calm he was! I have been very lucky and have been the first jockey on many hunters; Tonic stood out as soon as I got on him! Horses pick up on the riders nerves so leave them on the ground ! Thank you very much for watching!
@bh1264 Жыл бұрын
@msg polo eventing You are absolutely 100% correct about horses picking up on the rider's nerve & ability. If the horse doesn't like how it makes him feel, way worse can occur far more serious than just leaving that rider on their backside. You two seem to have a mutually compatible & respectful relationship!! HE IS A DEFINITE KEEPER!!!

What’s that sort of tail braiding called on the shorter tailed horses?
@Noodlemonkey7 Жыл бұрын
I tried looking up Fox hunter tails on Google and only found a couple images 😅
@tomonhorse Жыл бұрын
It’s just referred to as having his “tail up “ it’s basically just a normal plait, folded up and taped,, you see it in polo too! Keeps the tail out the mud ! Specially on grey horses ! And easier to clean when you get home 😊
@msgpoloeventing Жыл бұрын
Easier to keep the horses tail out of the mud and nice and clean- not everyone does it however because some horses are not too happy with their tail tied up, others don’t seem to mind. Always useful to tie the tail up and turn them into the field before you ride them so they can get their buck-a-Roos out!! Thank you for watching !!

Well done on getting genuine subscribers for being a man, its so unfair to men on Social media, women can make silly videos with no substance and as long as they are attractive they easily get over 1 million views. Men have to work on creative content, they have to work hard to get subscribers and unlike young women cannot just flash a bit of flesh.
