I’ve gotten a lot more into shiny hunting in other games that are S/V recently. I just recently finished my first ever reset hunt with a Mudkip for a shiny only play through of Omega Ruby. It’s been a lot of fun!

Unrelated but 5 minutes before I was gonna go to bed, I found an mmo in PLA of spiritomb, with an alpha second wave. I decided to do ONE permutation for the night… my streak of daily shinies continues with a shalpha spiritomb, before I even finished my first shiny box… still in shock 😅

good luck!! i did a sobble hunt same way and ended up over 3000 eggs before i found it. i got a FEMALE shiny sobble on the morning of the DLC release. all that to say that it will happen!!! don't give up!!!

It's almost two years of Shiny Hunting for me, my first shiny being Ditto in BDSP caught in February 2022 (First shiny in the Switch)

I need to shiny hunt more, but recently most of my hunts with odds of 1 in 8192 are taking a while. While its not my longest hunt, 14k srs is really annoying, especially when the previous 2 hunts were both around 11k and 12k.

so the other day i found my og copy of ruby in a box in attick wilest helping my perents clean out. was so happy from 2003-4 i know it was my og copy because i always remember never beating it. it was saved just outside stevens room with my sevarly under leveled team with highest level is 47. groudon dustox butifly linoone septile and pikachu lol i remember as kid i would always catch the first 4 pokemon i saw then use the legend and see if i could find a pikachu its still saved there now i tried a couple times to beat steven but got stomped lol. i will beat it and mabye hunt rayquaza in it because that game just hits different and it would be soo cool to me have pokemon from 04 then getting ray in 2024 as a baby brother to all the 04 mons lol. also found emerald chieldhood to but i had to ply it again right away.

So Rumble is a bit silly! Just because a pokemon is sparkling, doesnt mean its shiny! That sparkle effect just means that its a confirmed recruit, so every shiny has that, but some pokemon that arent shiny will ALSO have it.

Gen 8 being the best pokemon on the switch is the coldest of takes. Not only are those games not the best on the switch, they are BAR NONE the WORST pokemon games that gamefreak ever shat out and forced us to pay $60 for. They are so atrociously bad that i genuinely question some ones taste and intelligence when they tell me they like those game. They are SO BAD!

You're talking about the Gen 8 story, not the Gen 8 games (especially when it comes to shiny hunting). Gen 8 has the fastest [Switch] SRs for legendary hunts like the Swords of Justice and every Regi (even the two newly introduced ones). DAs have more legendaries available to hunt than any other game on the Switch, including 8 hunts *exclusive* to DAs. Most people I know would definitely have preferred if DAs led to a standard soft reset instead of being forced to face impossible paths with terrible bots, but the fact remains SwSh are objectively valuable games and without them you'd be missing out on sooooooo many hunts. BDSP's one saving grace is introducing the first official way to hunt for Arceus, but other than that everything is either a repeat legendary hunt from other games or a repeat event hunt from Platunum. PLA has merit because of some unique shiny alpha hunts, but those aren't exactly the same as legendaries and it's reduced to a mark/title in later games. You need a finished PLA save to hunt Arceus, so it is an important game to have, but it just HAD to lock the mythicals and its new legendary... SV? Don't make me laugh - the methods and overworld make shiny hunts definitively trivial, and on top of that EVERY LEGENDARY/MYTHICAL IN IT IS LOCKED. It's ridiculous how useless SV is when all you really want to do is spend time hunting, because the only worthwhile is hunt is the limited time Gimmighoul event
