Hi Nigel and Sue another great video, with such amazing scenery. When your Australian van life tour was complete, I was really disappointed that things would end there, but we have been pleasantly surprised. You are showing us places that we won't see in our life time and we thank you for that. Such great food and the atmosphere in the towns was great. Stay safe and happy until next time. Coen and Jay xx

Hi Sue and Nigel, wow Thank You for sharing the spectacular villages, such amazing buildings and history, I totally understand why you were emotional Sue- incredible beauty. The parking for Self-Contained Vans is incredible - so clever and practical, coin-operated, and safe - hope that Aussie towns think about this type of installation for their towns. They would increase their visitor rate in their towns and also get some income as well. Given your Aussie travels, hope there are some contacts you can send photos and information to them as a potential idea for them. Loved the video Thank You and super Glad you are having great wins in your travels & the water leak is all remedied. Travel safe and enjoy 👍🏻👏🏻🙏🏻❤️🇦🇺🙋🏻♀️

there are some towns that do have cheap (even free) parking for RVs which brings in quite a bit of business for their towns. I think the bigger issue in Australia is that there are so many vans on the road that are not self-contained, and inevitably the free camps end up being outdoor toilets which is quite disgusting!

That brought back memories of 30 years ago when I lived in Germany in my 20s. We stayed in Rothenburg overnight - lucky to get the very last hotel room within the walls. I've sat in that same Hofbrauhaus and enjoyed one of their small beers and a meal with hardly any meat in it during a business trip LOL. You're probably way more savvy than I. During that trip I learned that German meatloaf isn't the same thing as it is here in the US. When my food was delivered (different place, not at the beer hall), I learned there it is a literal translation "loaf of meat." Instead of the delicious slices of breaded beef i expected, I got fried baloney. My penance for not being a better German speaker/reader. Thanks for showing me all I missed, now I'll have to go back someday and catch up! Seeing how the camping facilities are set up in these places is very interesting.
@nigelandsueadventures4 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear you didn't have the greatest experience. We find trying the local food (and beer) to be a part of the adventure, but it can be a bit hit and miss!!
@redforeman-4044 ай бұрын
@@nigelandsueadventures oh no, it was great. I just didn't have the time to really get out and explore. The rest was my apparently poor attempt at humor (no small beers at Hofbrauhaus!) and being a naïve tourist. The fried baloney was great, just not what I expected. I suppose a German visiting the USA and ordering meatloaf for dinner would have a similar surprise. One interesting bit of trivia I heard was that original Hofbrauhaus in Munich was one of few buildings that escaped Allied bombing during WWII. I recall seeing all the carvings on the tabletops from visitors past. It's a neat place to experience.

@@redforeman-404 its so amazing. I was first there in 1989, then semi-regularly through '93-97, and it hasn't changed a bit! Did you ever eat fleischkäse? Which literally translated means "meat-cheese" - I'm not 100% sure what baloney looks like, but maybe that's what it was!
@redforeman-4044 ай бұрын
@@nigelandsueadventures there was so much meat I don't remember all of it. That was a 5 day business trip in 2007, so no time to explore the area much. Baloney is slang for bologna, a large smoked sausage of beef, veal, and pork. The German restaurant served high quality product in thick slices, fried. It was actually quite good. In the US, it's a common lunch meat sold in packages of thin slices for a sandwich. Usually cheaper than deli cold cuts, not usually the first choice of people who ate a lot of it as kids.
