You should ask Javanese people which the food which represents East Java, there is Rawon, tahu telor, Soto lamongan, bakso malang, lontong balap, bebek cuisine ( used to be my fav was bebek sinjay) etc. For example the 1st and 3rd dish was almost the same, both use a rice, peanut sauce and tofu and tempeh (only fried) all over almost taste the same. Yeah. They should add satay. Since the most popular kind of satay is the madura style. That classic satay with peanut sauce and kecap manis. And madura is part of east java. Kinda. A little information yah From Lamongan: Soto Lamongan, Pecel Lele, Nasi Buk/bok, Soto Babat, etc From Gresik: Nasi Krawu, etc From Malang: Lalapan, Bakso Malang, etc From Tulungagung, Blitar, Trenggalek, Kediri, Nganjuk: Punten Pecel, Opak Pecel, Lodo Ayam/Pitik Jowo, Sego Patik, Pecel sambal Tumpang, Nasi Gegok, etc (sorry to much because, i life here hehe) From Surabaya: Nasi Rawon, Lontong Balap, etc From etc. Because in Java (not only in East Java) every single area (bahkan di satu kota, memiliki makanan khas sendiri di tiap kecamatan-nya/kademangan atau area-nya). Bayangkan kabupaten kecil seperti Tulungagung misal yang memiliki jumlah penduduk lebih dari 1 juta. Kalau dibandingkan di eropa, itu sama dengan ibu kota atau kota besar, apalagi dengan kota/kabupaten yang lebih besar dari Tulungagung di Jawa. Keseluruhan, pilihan makanan untuk vidio ini kurang tepat hanya pecel madiun yang tepat,. Untuk Rujak Cingur, saya rasa itu diseluruh Jawa bahkan Indonesia sudah terkenal jadi bisa disebut makanan khas Indonesia. Nasi Tempong terkenal tapi g bisa juga disebut mewakili Jawa Timur, soalnya Lalapan Malang atau Pecel Lele Lamongan lebih terkenal daripada Nasi Tempong untuk hidangan yang kurang lebih mirip.

rujak cingur is the only rujak that looks like a salad. the sundanese rujak is wholly different. rujak cingur is also kinda similar to lotek/gado gado also the chip in the pecel madiun is called rempeyek or peyek for short

It's okay if they din't like nasi tempong. They just didn't know how to eat the nasi tempong. Someone had to tell them how. You shouldn't eat them separately. But you guys have to put them altogether. So the flavors will blend in your mouth. And that's very tasty. 👍🏼👍🏼😁

I wouldn't recommend these menu myself eventhough I'm Indonesian and I'm fine with them. East Javan menu that would be more palatable for western people would be Sate Ayam Madura and maybe Rawon. East Java is really well known for Rawon, too bad they didn't taste it :3. Rujak cingur, for beginer to Indonesian Food it must be confusing lol. So, it should be for a pro. Food to impress foreigner taste bud : satay (chicken, goat, beef, rabbit or even mushroom), gado-gado (more acceptable than pecel because tidack pedazzz) and soto (you can choose soto lamongan, soto madura or even sop ayam tulungagung).

You are not giving rujak cingur justice, by serving the cingur ( cow's nose). It's an acquired taste, and it took even me a while to really like it. Leave the cingur out, and it becomes rujak petis, which is so tasty, I am sure the foreigner would have given it at least an 8. petis ( shrimp paste) being the important ingredient for many other dishes, such as tahu campur, rujak tahu, etc).
