This movie really screwed him over. Even when she came to... I can't even say apologize in quotations cuz she doesn't even do that. She really just comes to tell him she's pregnant, then gaslight him about how "we weren't ever the same after we lost the baby." When it was actually HER. She directed her negative feelings towards his actions, associating them as distance and being "different" when it was really just her. Changed in whatever way, she could no longer feel the same for him, and registers his behaviour as different. That gives her justification to cheat. 11 years from now when she talks about this story, she'll downplay the severity of her actions. She'd frame it as if it was never going to be possible for then to function from then on, and how the marriage went down the drain after the miscarriage. They weren't having screaming matches every night or sleeping in separate beds. She probably gave him q hug and a kiss every day before work, and smiled as she went and stabbed him in the back. Hate how movies like this normalize this type of behavior. He shut down and was upset about losing a child her answer instead of being supportive and working through it was to begin cheating on him in their home with his boss... then drops back in after all of that with the hey you got me pregnant. Fawk that

My wife had multiple affairs and in counseling tried to blame me that I was not giving her the attention she needed. We are now divorced, she moved in with a guy 19 yrs younger than her who she is now realizing is only in it for the short term and our kids live with me because they refuse to live with her. I have since opened a successful company and I am dating a beautiful woman. I have a message out there for married women eyeing up that personal trainer in the gym.... decisions have consequences!!

Like a textbook narcissist, she's desperately trying to wiggle her way back into his good graces for the security and support he represents. The boss wasn't sturdy enough to monkey branch to, so she scrambles back to him to avoid loneliness and hardship. His peace and freedom don't matter; only her happiness and comfort do.

She’s so delusional and she definitely was making excuses! Things going south with your spouse does NOT justify cheating on them with their boss you either make an effort to fix the relationship or end it don’t make excuses as to why you fucked around like that makes it okay.

Having been through a similar situation, this scene was quite difficult for me to watch. I don't consider myself a hateful individual, but over the years, my ex has pushed me to, and perhaps beyond, my limits. Having NOT been the victim in the destruction of our marriage, her casual "c'mon, we can do this" attitude just prolongs the pain. After nearly 15 years, I know the pain is not going away...the best I can hope for is acquiring the skills to manage it. I don't want to hate her...but I'm ever so close!
