Keep at it man. You guys are living out your dream. Something most people never even get to try. Watching in car footage from other drivers can be really helpful. We have a local kid that runs modifieds. TONS of natural talent, can’t feel where the speed is and is chasing a feeling in the car that doesn’t make good lap times. Not saying that’s what’s going on but in cars from sweet/rico/gravel might be helpful
@rossmcclure5618Ай бұрын
I would recommend watching as much tape of the top teams qualifying at as many tracks as possible. Rico is one of the best to watch because his car is almost always good and he almost always does his part great too. That’s what I did when I first started fishing tournaments. I’d shake the winners hand, and then look at their boat, how they had their poles rigged, ect. I think you could apply that to racing. Thanks for the great entertainment. Have fun!!

Hi Tanner, I been watching you for a few years now and I can see a shift in your overall driving approach. I don’t know much about racing and the skills or technical stuff, but I do know a fair bit about sports psychology. I hope you take this advice and suggestion as encouragement to get with a sports psychologist. I had a friend who was a pro golfer and it transformed his game. I hear your frustrations and the mentions of your team discussions and that’s all good. Who’s taking care of Tanner? Who gets to hear the stuff you can’t say to Anyone else? Who helps you claim your thoughts, focus so clearly the world slows down? Who is helping you learn from your mistakes and successes, then letting them go? You used to thrive in traffic and make some magical moves. Now i think I’m seeing a different more measured approach. I don’t know what is right or wrong but I see the difference. Look I know bold driving is risky but the speed of victory is always on the knife edge next to failure.

Hey tanner keep your head up it's definitely not a lack of effort

Tough nights are trying for sure. Keep digging. But your starts continue to be your Achilles. Heat race you lost a spot immediately. Even though car starting 6th went immediately to 4th, you went back. Heat race was a boondoggle starting that far back, but by the first turn you were already 3 lengths behind the car in front of you. Good job missing the wreck, then at the restart you let the car ahead get away and lost the spot. Don’t know how you improve there but it’s definitely hurting your performance.

I agree. Get yourself a Crewchief. I am sure some of the top men are in semi retirement and might be interested in coming on board for a Season or two. Best of luck in upcoming races……Australia is waiting to see you DOWN UNDER…..

Kiddo, the harder you work, the more things will come your way.

In karts you drove elbows out with no fear, your 410 style is timid especially in qualifying. which is the "risk a wreck" time in racing else it ends up in a "follow the leader" race, Drive with eyes but race with feel through fingers and bum
@iTakerrrАй бұрын
"Just get an experienced Crew Chief Tanner" everyone shouts as though that wouldn't already be the obvious thing to do in this situation. I'm pretty sure they know that guys. There are a ton of teams that would love that kind of help, but it's not cheap help, and I'm sure they're not really making any money doing this with this kind of drought as it is. It's not as simple as "just get a crew chief" lol.
@kylewelch1039Ай бұрын
Just an observation but you said you were setting the car up to bang the boards then as soon as the green drops you go run middle down to the low line. Stay with your plan.
@darthrevan611Ай бұрын
Looked like the car had nearly no forward bite center off in heat and B.

See if you can hire Jimmy Carr from Scelzi, he's not running much anymore. Stick to West Coast next year, run NARC, SCCT, still run both Knoxville Nationals. You have the talent, you need a quality crew chief/mentor to take you to the top.
@frankisfunny2007Ай бұрын
Jimmy Carr may want to return home to Pennsylvania. Work on a car here.
@jpstripeit4447Ай бұрын
I agree, to run at this level you need a boost from a seasoned car chief. You seem to be close but that experience might just put you in a better place.
@jasonlong3929Ай бұрын
Man qualifying is so important sounded like in heat outta gas way to much
@abpob6052Ай бұрын
You really need a dedicated, experienced crew chief that understands your chassis builder.

Looks to me that your hands are very busy, compared to last season in the 1t
@hunterpalmer1215Ай бұрын
I feel like you should just run 410 weekly shows to build up your speed and team then in the future run these bigger shows with the outlaw guys but that’s just my personal opinion
@everettburns890Ай бұрын
Tanner you need to get off the corners better . They are pulling 1-2 car length and you are trying to make that up. Just work on it. Good luck

Tanner please give my apologies to Carly about asking so many questions, like I said to you I almost fell like I know you because of you tube and I apologize. My family was involved in Racing for decades and most of all with Sprint Cars and we were lucky enough to be around people who had been involved in racing for decades before us and didn't mind sharing their knowledge with us. I do admit I did get some answers I thought Carly was telling me about muffler bearings, I was not there to steal secret.

Try this put Carly in the car and see if it’s you or the car. I don’t mean this as criticism just trying something different.maybe she could understand what the car needs better.

Watching Tanner race is like watching Biden debate. *_We finally beat medicare._* Just like Joe, all Tanner needs are for people who care about him to convince him to step down and replace him with Carly-Carmala.
