[6:30] Seriously guys can we have an whole video on how we rejoice in the suffering bit? can see how suffering dulls the evil vindictive feelings & made me more compassionate I cry more for ppl's pain, but not all the time still mainly like a cold hard stone in the face of human suffering... !
@pettanshrimpnazunasapostle19929 ай бұрын
The verse is more on if you are suffering because others falsely slander you for being righteous because of your faith in Christ. Then you can respond in joy as you are suffering because the people against you see your Christlikeness. While it is sad that there will be people openly hostile towards Christ and His people, if these people are against you it means your Christlikeness is visible to others and not like a lamp hidden under a bowl. As for the part of being cold and lacking empathy. I too also struggle with it but what I learned from matthew 5:43-44 where Jesus calls us to love our enemies; is that love is not just a feeling of compassion or when you empathise with someone. Apostle Paul also emphasizes love as a verb in romans 12:9-21. Paul nowhere in here says to 'feel' for the people in the scenarios he describes. But he ask the romans and us to do,share and practise love. Even God Himself exemplifies this in John 3:16. The verse says God sent His one and only son, He sent Jesus which is an action. God's love which is the kind Jesus wants us to be able to do is not limited to emotions only but also includes actions. So in conclusion, love is a verb. An act of commitment to seek the highest good for someone even if you don't feel 'love' for that someone. Scripture makes it clear love is a verb. But modern day usage of the word has twisted its meaning into a noun for our feelings of liking someone. While love in the bible also has the heart involved, it is not exclusively emotions. Actions > emotions when it comes to loving people especially your enemies! Of course action without pure motives cannot be considered love as well. Since Jesus mentions to keep our motives pure in matthew 5:8. The other verses mentioned above also reinforces the idea that love is sincere and pure as well.

It can lead to disappointment when it is assumed cause leads to direct effect. There are also cases where showing mercy is seen as a weakness and punished by people. Dunno, maybe so that the motivation wouldn't be expecting reward, but the inherent righteousness of it, and also to see humankind as one entity instead of becoming egocentric. Apart from that, some promises of rewards seem to be meant post-mortem. Quite the high difficulty level faith.

1. We are powerless and poor in spirit in ourselves. We must know this to submit to God for strength. We stop playing God. 2. Mourning is not as we view it. It is the essence of biblical awareness of our hearts. An act of cleansing, healing and acknowledging our past. It allows me to view God as He is with a redeemed heart. 3. Meekness is not weakness! Moses, David and our Jesus were described as weak! Every beatitude is given to us to recognize our humanness without Him and how it is complete in Him. We don't pick or choose the one to live by. We live by all of them daily! This is the longest and an important sermon that Jesus taught for us to live.

The most correct translation for peacemakers is "one who has a sword But does not draw it". A fight I breaking out and while you can join and you can fight and you can win... It's better to leave the sword where it is and attempt to bring peace. If you don't have a sword - you can't be a peacemaker.😅
