I know a lot of Arsenal fans aren't happy with this signing but I genuinely cannot believe we've got him for only £12m. Only Mason Mount has played more minutes in the Chelsea midfield this season and while they are struggling, they are only 2 points from 6th - hardly relegation fodder. Jorginho also tops almost every important midfield metric for Chelsea this season which tends to suggest their problems aren't him. So a first team Chelsea player has come to us as a squad player... So not at all similar to Cech, Willian or Luiz; all of whom came to us as bit part players to become regular starters. This has also freed up Lokonga to go out on loan a get hopefully much needed first team football; someone we were barely using and needs to play. I really don't see a negative with this transfer. Cheap, low risk and another (Trossard) proven match sharp top Premiership quality player. Cheap so means we have money to dip back into the market for Caicedo or Rice in the Summer.

We need Partey against the top 6-7 sides. Jorginho will be more than good enough vs the rest. Having Jorginho available allows us to rest Partey when required. It is a no brainer. Caicedo for 70m seemed ridiculous to me. Mudryk for 80-90m as way to expensive for a back up to Martinelli as well. I’m happier with Trossard and Jorginho. In the summer, we just need a starter level player that can play as a 6 or an 8. Rice would be ideal as he is English. I don’t know if we would go for a striker to rival Jesus and Nketiah… Resign Saliba and Saka. Perhaps a LB if Tierney leaves. Finally, perhaps we can recall Balogun.

If he makes the progressive passes as shown in the video here to Odegaard, Saka, Martinelli, Trossard etc, Arsenal will rip apart the opposition because that's how full of confidence and lethal they have been this season. A very astute signing in the short term for Arteta's team and ensures there isn't too much drop in quality for the times when Partey isn't available

I think it's a good signing, considering the limited options we had available, we got a player with prem experience and a proven winner. If he was a replacement for Partey I'd be livid, but he isn't, we need back up, and as far as back up goes, he's about the best we could have hoped for after Caicedo was off. Forget his current form, we know what he is capable of, and in a team thats playing as well as we are, with Arteta at the helm, he might find a new life. He could actually be vital to help us get over the line towards the end of the season.

I know he has fans and i'm one of them but many people under rate or just dont see the beauty in his game. Calm , cool, poised and intelligent. He has what every great midfielder has imo, fantastic one touch passing and an spatial awareness to match. He might not be in his prime but if this works out, It'd be great for both parties. Very disciplined and well executed transfer business from Arsenal this window. I believe we are in a position to acquire someone better than Jorginho but I like that we are not over paying or obsessing over any 1 target... And perhaps the club is tanking to spend on a marquee signing in the summer which is wise. It's apparent that the club does have the budget to sign a 60-70 mil player at least. Only Mason Mount has played more minutes in the Chelsea midfield this season. We've signed a Chelsea first team player (albeit likely getting replaced by Enzo) to become a squad player for us. Willian, Cech and Luiz came to us as bit part players from Chelsea to walk into our starting 11. I'd argue this is very different. Also means money saved to spend on potentially Rice or Caicedo in the Summer. I know Chelsea aren't doing well this season but they are 2 points off 6th so hardly relegation fodder in a poor season by their standards contributed mostly due to their misfiring strikers, one of which we know plenty about...

wydm. I rather take him then Savic. Of course because of the costs. But he s more then perfect for Artetas System, has a likely style like Arteta in the past. Also for 10m + 2m Bonus is crazy when you look up that he has a market value of 35m. You can of course say he has not his high level right now, but he has time to adapt, no one is injured and he can train with us to comeback to his normal form. Also the contract is only 1 year long. We got for the Amount New Castle spend on Gordon 3 Quality Players which can help us definitely in squad depth and winning. Im really proud of the board and the decisions, i was also no fan of the caicedo deal because for 26 prem games is 80m or more just greedy af. We stay focus and clear, look at the players we wanted in the last 2 years which were so expsensiv, so we had another for him. Worked everytime and the players which were double or threetimes over theyre market value didnt proofed it either, expect maybe Martinez, but ManUTD also payed 30m more then asked.

He will age finely at Arsenal. Ya'll need to remember the "old" AC Milan Pirlo and the "New" Juventus Pirlo. Different teams, different setups, different styles and different managers. Him coming to Arsenal only strengthens the team. It makes no sense buying a 70mil player to add to the squad. Jorgi has done it all and will be patient for minutes unlike a young hungry player, who at the end might lose his form waiting on the bench. I never saw this deal coming but I'm okay with it. We don’t need another fast player. What we need is depth and a switch up in game in case things don’t go the way they do. If in a match Jorginho started as a deep lying playmaker instead of Partey, it would be better to field Odegaard and Smith Row to his both sides. It will not only compensate Jorginho's lack of space and drifting ability but will also allow Jorginho to destroy opposition's attack by maintaining proper position. As Xhaka also lacks the pace, it will be a bit risky to put two players with less pace in central midfield in the modern day of high octane football.
