IMPORTANT ADDITION: One thing about the venomized variant for copycat and the variants that release one day after the new cards in spotlights: It doesnt matter when you pick up copycat from spotlights within the week, you always get the variant in the shop with the next shop reset after you open the card :) Got Ajax yesterday and his venomized variant is in the shop for me today. So my strategy is always to at least wait a few days before i get the card to see what kind of decks the card performs well in and if i like that playstyle.

I just wanted to say thank you for continuing to add the deck links. I understand why some people think you should remove them, and I'm probably selfish for wanting them to stay. But I DO watch every video through, like it, and I comment pretty often. I can't always copy down all the decks I want while listening, and going to an episode and finding the deck I wanted to try is super convenient. Thanks again for putting your listeners first, I appreciate it.

I’m all set to buy Copycat for tokens. This means I can skip all the rest of this month and next to save up for September, when not only do the new cards look more interesting, but there’s a couple of weeks where I can get more than one. (I’m still debating; I MAY cache in the last week of this month to get Hope Summers and Proxima Midnight.)
@xdrkcldx5 ай бұрын
This is how to do it! Getting 2 or more chances of a new card saves keys. The random card might even net you a new card if you are lucky. The new cards get rereleased after 6 months so save up.

I definitely try to open when I can get multiple cards. I’m in new territory currently, because all of August has only cards I already have (except of course the new ones), so I’m actually buying Copycat with tokens so I can save up for September, when all the new cards look interesting, there’s more older cards I don’t have, and I’m going to try to open as much as possible. It’s tough to wait! I normally go if I have at least 3 (preferably 4) caches and I want the new card. Alas, it usually takes at least three!

For spotlights I always rank all the cards of the season based on my style of play, unique abilities, and longevity. My approach is I try to plan ahead a bit on which cards I'm interested in (since my keys and tokens are quite limited as f2p), and then I wait until your Friday video to see how the card is shaping up with some actual play behind it. ALSO: In my experience, the fancy new variant for whatever a week's new card is comes to your shop the day after you acquire the card, not specifically on Wednesday - e.g. if I open the new card on Friday, the variant will be in my shop Saturday. So you don't miss out on the variant by waiting to open!

Like others, my strategy for the spotlights is looking ahead at datamines then I get them day of. It's why I came back to the game recently after leaving earlier this year. Saw the September move cards but only had one cache. Waiting until Friday is much smarter then pulling day one but so far the only full regret is Selene. Didn't help that I got her AGAIN immediately the next week out of the random slot against ridiculous odds. Nerfs with no refunds and dupe protection consisting of 1000 tokens are bigger problems than cards turning out poorly.

My general strategy for spotlights is to plan a few weeks in advance which to skip and which to potentially cache in. If I'm missing 1 or both of the other cards and they fit into a archetype I play then I'll likely cache. I usually cache the first day available instead of waiting since I like to immediately test out the new card(s)

My spotlight strategy varies. It's usually based around how many cards I need that week and then how good the spotlight card is. For example if the spotlight is an absolutely must have like Arishem, I'll get it, otherwise I usually try to wait for a week that I need at least 2 cards.

My strategy with spotlights: I plan ahead using Marvel Snapzone's Spotlight Cache Planner. Knowing which cards are coming determine what spotlights I might want to spend my keys on. I understand that the datamined spotlights may change, but I got to take that risk. When a spotlight with a card that I want arrives, I always wait until monday to open, so that I can see what decks the new card goes into and it's approximated meta relevancy. If I like the archetype and the opinions that I see here and in a few other channels sounds good to me, then I open. Also, only open if I have at least 4 keys. Right now, I'm sitting at 13 keys, might open for Copycat and then wait because probably I will open in every week next month, depends on how lucky I get.

I like to plan in advance which spotlight caches I will open. For example, now I think that August's spotlight caches don't look interesting (except for Marvel Boy, though it was expectedly nerfed). But September, on the contrary, looks fresh, the dawn of the movement decks will come. Sometimes plans change, as happened with Arishem (I wanted to take Ajax, but when I realized that Arishem was funny enough, and Ajax, in turn, looked too weak, I decided to break my plan). Also after the unsuccessful hasty opening of spotlight caches with Valentina, War Machine and some other cards, I decided it was better to open new cards later after collecting data.

My spotlight strategy is : 1) Review datamines, watch content from folks like the great Snap Judgements team and determine my favorite targets for coming months. Do appropriate hoarding of keys to ensure I have 4 keys for the targets. (If not possible, debate internally over which favorite to remove). 2) From there, if I have enough to spare, will pull for any card that looks good and/or FUN, provided I will still have keys for the favorites identified in step 1. 3) If a card looks fun, but I'm not sure, usually wait until Friday to get a chance to see what it looks like in action. 4) when cards look equally compelling, I err on the side of caches where there is another card I don't have own featured. For purpose of planning, I always assume it will take max number of pulls to get my targeted card. then it feels good if RNG rolls in my favor, and I get to adjust my numbers and target more cards! Needless to say, I spend way too much time debating what to do!

I have multiple strategies depending on the existing cards and whether I'm missing them. But I do generally wait until Friday to see what is being thought about the new cards. But, the new cards are risky, they will buff them quickly like Hydro Bob and USAgent or nerf them like Red Hulk. As you say, SD'smgoal is for all new cards to be good. And they mostly are indeed good cards. So I generally focus on the existing cards unless the new card seems especially good such as Arishem or Thena.

My usual strategy is to target the spotlight cache with at least 2 good or 1 good and 1 decent card that I don’t have, and for that I m willing to spend 4 keys to have a shot at the random one as well to get a new card maybe. I usually never go for spotlight just to unlock ONLY the new card. I have saved up some tokens for those instances!

If I’m really psyched for a card I will pull right away. Most weeks I wait to see what the take on the card is from the community or what types of decks the new card is going in. My strategy is to look at datamines and decide in advance which cards I will target. I look at my Tokens and Keys and decide how I will likely make the purchase. On the day it drops, I get it as soon as I can. For cards I don’t target, I wait until Friday to see how it is doing and if it is one of those cards that MAY be good a month from now, I might spend on it. For instance, Ajax was a card I was going to skip but decided he might be something that might be good next month so I spent a key and got it (I was lucky to spend only one key). I am only missing 5 cards.

Welcome back! My strategy on spotlight caches is to wait for ones where I miss/need 2+ cards. In that case, I usually don't wait and open directly. Next week for instance, Copycat is a card I want, and I miss Cull so I will open directly. If I get Copycat first w/o Cull, I will not open the rest I think, since Cull is replaceable. If not, I will open till I get her. Otherwise, when only one card interests me, I wait thanks to you for Friday or even Monday to get to know if I will open, or buy it with tokens even. For instance recently, I bought Arishem with tokens. I am F2P and have currently 15k tokens and 25 keys.

2 things for me with spotlights. First, I almost never open unless I have 4 keys or will have 4 keys by the end of the week. Second, when I open depends on the card - Arishem I opened day 1 because he looked cool and I didn't care about the strength. I also opened Proxima day one as discard is one of my favorite decks. Namora I waited on to see how she would fare. Since I was 6 cards from collection complete when the spotlight system started, we're only really within the last month or so getting to the point where cards I don't have are coming to the spotlights and, of those, I really haven't seen any must haves, so I don't know going forward what my multiple card strategy will be.

This week I'm going for it, because copycat seems cool, and I have been playing a bit more Thanos lately, and don't have cull obsidian, so there are 2 new cards and that variant of thanos wouldn't be bad to get either, since I have a few keys saved up.

As a F2P player, I value each Spotlight Key as 3500 tokens, and I’ll only open spotlight caches when the expected value per key is higher than 3500 tokens. For example: if I miss all 3 cards this Ajax’s week, the totally value of all spotlight caches is 6000(Ajax)+3000(DH)+6000(BRB)+1000(worst case random) = 16000 tokens, which means the expected value per key is 16000/4 = 4000, so I will open the spotlight caches. If I got Ajax from my first pull, the remain value in the spotlight caches is 10000 tokens, means the expected value per key is down to 10000/3 = 3333 tokens, which is lower than 3500 tokens so I will stop opening the caches.

Now I always wait until the weekend missions, because I often did wrong choice on which card to pick (as a F2P player), so i wait for you and other content creator to judge the new cards. Once I used to open immediately, but i was missing many more cards...

As a f2p, I plan ahead based on the spotlight schedule, only pull if at least two cards I don’t have, and wait until Friday based on content creator’s review. Further, to be efficient with my limited resources, I’m completely agnostic to variants - don’t spend anything variants. Btw - will do a final review of Ajax via collecting comments from all of the top players? I like that part of your review.

Always looking for 2 cards in the cache, even if the 2nd is only okay and if i wouldnt continue if i get my number 1 card first. Very hard to justify token purchase or keys for 1 card, but if a card is really appealing, I occasionally spend my saved keys/tokens. In practice, either im so sure i open immediately or im on the fence and pretty much always end up not opening... my regret at missing out usually takes a few weeks to kick in! I can't think of the last time I "wait and see" and ended up opening

I am collection complete I always try for the new card and I’m usually lucky and open first or second key

I like to think think I have the self control to save up 4 keys before digging into a spotlight cache. In reality, I am definitely gonna blow all my keys on getting that nico variant.

Always try to tailor my pulls to fit my playstyle. I don't like Discard, so I still don't have Corvus or Proxima.

My spotlight strategy is typically opening for the new cards as I'm close to collection complete (I was at one point). Without the week off I've had to strategise further, which has had me plan when I spend 6K and skip (not very often) or recently I just full skipped to save keys on Bob. Overall this has become tougher because previously I could get two skips weeks, one where there was no new card and the week with a series 4 as, shocker, saving 3K tokens is much easier than 6K and the 4th option in spotlights felt like they helped there. I'm gutted this week as I probably should have passed on Ajax as well, as I'm not close enough to 6K to buy Copycat and I may at best have 2 keys for Tuesday :( At least Cassandra week should help me for Young Avengers season.

Spotlights I normally wait to see if there’s a card I’ve been dying for or if come Friday you say the new card is a go getter.
