I have a reroute kit on my LBZ, once I blew my cold side charged air boot off at high boost pulling a grade towing my travel trailer with the fam and had to fix it at night on the side of the highway, the boot was soaked in oil like a baby oil slip and slide, I routed my PCV hoses to a stainless "T" barb fitting and have the outlet side hose ran down the drivers side wheel well, something about running anything with hot oil vapor anywhere near my exhaust doesn't sit right with me but to each there own.

It’s the last thing on my list, I’ve already done 4” straight pipe, EFI live Wye Fab wye bridge egr delete and a Banks air intake. I can’t believe how much cleaner the oil stays now. The L5P has a filter and venturi that is similar to the cummins. I would highly recommend people to use a catch can while leaving the stock system in tact and eliminate the extra oil vapors being routed into the compressor side of the turbo. Leaving the factory system in place has several benefits on the L5p specifically. Pulling a vac on the system is extremely important on these high HP applications like L5P trucks that push 550-600whp with a simple tune.

The last two d max’s Iv bought was because they had took there truck to have the pvc rerouted and someone didn’t know what they was doing. They had just tied them both together and right back into the turbo lmao. Causing the crankcase pressure to build up and blow the dipstick out after a few minutes of running. Simply took everything apart and cleaned everything and then done the correct rerouting process. Been driving the 06 myself daily ever since and my father in law dives the 05 lly daily.

My ‘02 LB-7 has a road draft tube running down the front of the engine vented to atmosphere from factory . NO Issues , & no need to remove what’s not there in my case .

Im so glad i saw this video i didnt know about the PCV reroute and why guys do it. So much useful info on both channels. If i buy the kit from your website will the kit work for a 11 LML vin code 8? I did both these up grades on my 05 Duramax, along with egr delete at 37k miles. GM denied my warranty claim on brakes and abs system because I was 470 miles over the warranty. So, I figured they would find a way to deny future claims. Anyway, even at 37k miles the turbo was caked with oil and burned oil.

I would definitely say if anyone does attach a catch can, make sure it’s either a good one check it regularly, I put one on my LBZ when I rerouted the PCV, but it ended up dripping oil from the can, and building up pressure in the crankcase. I was worried cuz I thought it was blowby and thought my piston rings were shot, spent all kinds of money to “flush” or decarbonize the rings. But then I cut the can off and the pressure decreased so much that now the oil cap doesn’t blow off the oil neck anymore.

Quick question instead of running the tube to the ground can't we put some sort of breather on it? There's not that much oil so as long as you clean the breather every oil change it should be fine

Truck master would you recommend a LMM? Obviously the emissions were a problem but other than that a good reliable Duramax? LBZ's are hard to find in my area but seeing a lot of LMM's.

Yes I definitely would recommend a LMM but LBZ is the way to go due to less emissions but 07-10 trucks are good as well

Josh ive heard of ppl having the hose end freeze closed during cold season frow warm vapor condensating and closing off the end of the tubing please let the people know aboit this situation ive read other reviews of repair shops or truck oweners having this issue

I did this to my 05 LLY,i ran driver side to passenger side into a tee,and the other end to atmosphere..this not ok? Does each side need to vent on its own? You have a kit for a '16 LML??!!

Just an FYI, the duramax is a closed loop PCV system and your kit makes it an open system and per the EPA that’s not legal. On a Cummins 2nd and 3rd gens the pcv is open so u can do what ever u want. But u can’t legally make a closed system open with out an EO#. Invent a catchcan system so it stays closed and no EO# required.

It depends if it’s low side you can use normal worm clamps even the ones at harbor freight work well

I saw a guy take a 4.3 oil housing and make a pvc reroute and he just charges the oil filter when he changes his oil
