I've flown off the cornice at the top of the bowls and caught 22 inch trout a mile south of town. The place is that special.

He never wrote about Idaho, he wanted to keep that for himself. Smart man.

@@BenWilson-pv3be Write me a check so I can move my family too. We have jobs and obligations in NYC. So it's easy to say "move". If you are going to tell me to move then you better give me the money so we can all quit our jobs and my entire family can move. Otherwise just don't tell ne what to do.

Just like Hemingway I found solitude here in Idaho because it is my home it will always be my home.

It's gratifying to see The Smith put up a tribute to this man and the area. I did some growing up in this area in the early 1970's. Skiing Baldy and cross country skiing with my Dad up Trail Creek after breaking one of my skis in the deep snow are of my great memories.

Ernest Hemingway’s most famous book was published on this day in 1940. Learn about his stay at Sun Valley, where he finished writing, “For Whom The Bell Tolls.” bit.ly/1uh9cMg

Because he finally found peace, possibly justice, and a fantastic place to raise children. Having met His daughter several times, and having a school named after him. I do not know, Justice and freedom only exist in your mind, for corruptin and evil exist every god damd day.

I know several people in Sun Valley, I know the Moores, Capps, Willis, West, Star Family, Blakes, Streets, and a few others I played against their kids when I was on the Bliss Soccer Team our 20 year rivalry is the stuff of legends. I miss going up there playing on the grass under Baldy and going head to head against the Cutthroats those were the days. Occasionally Arnold comes up here and everyone knows Arnold "The Governator" Schwarzenegger.

I don't think The Sawtooth Club was around when Hemingway was alive. The Sawtooth Club website says it was established in 1987. More likely he hung out at Slavey's or The Casino

2:48 "He built his new house like a vault...to protect his writing...." This is completely FALSE. The house was built in 1953 by Henry J. "Bob" Topping Jr. Come on Smithsonian - fact check your narration.

Were immigrants bothering Heminway? Did the immigrant police keep bothering Heminway because he was a writer?
