Bro!!!!! I spoke to the generation ahead of us; the primary reason why they have been increasing their prices is because they want to price against an inflationary effect. And genuinely I understand where they are coming from because their experiences factor into it. My issue is the current generation and how their predatory pricing methods are seen as someone not knowing business. This really hurts me. Some Nigerian retailers I have experienced are really good at cutting margins especially when products are in high demand. My Ghanaian siblings. Hmmmm. I would like to address three things 1. The lady didn't complain about the price, she says if the eatery says 6000 is this portion, then they should do it well and raise the price rather than serving her such food. She is right. 2. Also, The packaging is for the average to low class members of the country, there is no way Ministers and Senators of the State will buy in such packaging. 3. Food being cold, Its not right for the food to come that cold, if the distance is far, then better put it in a better package that will keep it warm. The price set is for the target Market. If you sell this at 6000 Naira then you are targeting people who can buy at 6000 Naira. That is what is meant by Target Market. Anyone within that range of pricing is eligible to buy form them. Understanding your own brand and how you want to market it is better. Visit Coconut Grove Hotels in Ghana and you would Understand. Food there is around 165 cedis and above, even if you are the poorest person in the country and you have the money to buy, you are treated just like how the rich will be treated when coming to buy. After all, they are paying the same thing.
