Yeah I feel the same as you on Rallies. I did pre Strugis once. No big crowds and the roads were wide open. We ride every day and got a tee shirt for the wife. Check the box. The roads there are amazing. I take it one step further and don’t even do bike nights. No need to play dress up and walk around looking tough.

Daytona is like going out on new years eve, its everyone who stays home all the rest of the year then decide they have to show everyone how much they can party.

The number one problem for Daytona rallies are the dates. March and October are absolute no-goes for anyone who wants to ride to them from anywhere up north. The number two problem is you have to ride through numerous helmet states to get there.

Grew up in Sturgis. 70s and 80s. Rally’s had more of a mom n pop feel back in those days. Today they are commercialized and all about squeezing every nickel they can get. Throw in thousands of inexperienced or impaired riders and it’s a no for me. The rides are far better without all the crowds anyway. ✌️

I only do Laconia now because it is not a far ride from home in NY plus there is great riding there. Florida doesn’t have any good roads to ride in comparison

I agree with you 100% about Daytona bike week. It's not good. Sturgis is the same. I like Sturgis for the scenery. But, you get all the weekend warriors, outrageous food and beer prices. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to see the circus. A couple days in Sturgis or one day in Daytona bike week is enough. I love the weather in Florida this time of year and enjoy that area to visit friends near Daytona.

Agree on Daytona, Florida being the worst state to ride in makes Daytona the worst rally event, no roads to ride, nothing but heavy beach traffic, unless you like walking with a bunch of drunks, avoid Daytona like the plague, now the cops are clamping down on bikes too, makes it the place to avoid.
