This is why I play Gran Turismo - Epic respectful wheel to wheel battle with Shoomi - #granturismo7
People often ask me why I began putting my Gran Turismo progress online and why I began to build a community on the KZbin platform. The latter is a big question with a very long answer that I will leave for another time However, those of you who follow me and race with me, well you will already know the answer to that question.
However, in this video I would like to share with you just one example of why I enjoy racing in Gran Turismo whenever time permits and more recently Monday through Friday on a regular basis. This video is an example of everything that is brilliant about online racing in Gran Turismo and it is an example of a racing sequence that keeps me coming back and back to the game, longing for more. These moments are few and far between for me at the moment, but I hope for more as my skills improve.
So, to the race. This is an online lobby race that I was in with some racers that have been racing with me for a while and some racers that are new to my lobbies this week. I was practicing for my upcoming super touring car race that is hosted by Jackie Daytona and Playright and I went up against Shoomi and Leucu in an amazing side by side battle.
Shoomi is a racer that I have raced with over many months and someone that I have looked up to and admired as one of our many clean and highly skilled racers. Leucu only started racing with us a few short days ago and was a largely unknown to me. However, Leucu has very quickly settled into our way of racing and they are a welcome addition to our growing racing community.
I pushed hard against Shoomi knowing how respectful he is when racing and I knew that I could attempt some of the moves that I tried. However, and very thankfully, he was not about to make things easy for me and he tested my metal to the limit in this one, getting the better of me to the line - but nevertheless, this is quickly becoming one of my favourite side by side races, not least because this is a racer that I have admired and looked up to for a while, and who I thought that I would never get to spar with in this way.
I hope that you enjoy this snippet from the 12 lap long race, the whole race being available as part of my 4th April livestream. I apologise for the quality of the video. I neglected to save the replay for this race and this is a download from the published video but I could resist putting this one on my channel as a reminder of why I love this game and racing with my online friends.

My online name is Mitchell Morgan and this is my Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5) Gran Turismo 7 based channel, going under the name of PlayStation Racer. I love racing on motor racing sim games and Gran Turismo has been my favorite for many years. I have been playing GT7 since it was released on my other profile, but this is a complete rerun on my new profile for my new PlayStation Racer channel and my new team Mitchell Morgan Racing. As this channel develops, I plan to try my hand at other motor racing games and those will also feature from time to time.

Had some good races around Watkins as well. I'm glad the culture of proper race etiquette hasn't completely disappeared in Gran Turismo 7. It still shines through when it needs to.

Without doubt. I could not have raced like that with most people. He did not even flinch at my bumps in some of those moves but continued to push me. Loved it.
