Not 1 reason, but combination of factors: 1) Kohli-Rahul overdefensiveness 2) Lack of reliable lower order 3) Field placement. Labuschagne and Travis Head edged the ball through slips. 4) Most likely some pitch manipulation which backfired on India. 5) Despite taking early wickets, dew neutralized the effectiveness of spinners. 6) And last but not the least, Australia was just more hungrier on the day.

I can only say Best upcoming allrounders are Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy not even venkatesh iyer or anyone else and like jaffer said we need to make sure all the batsmens who can bowl need to bowl first in practice for 5overs atleast and then start batting

Real reason why we lost ODI World Cup, -Big names batters who can win matches couldn’t fire from the start - Bowlers couldn’t save the team by insane wickets taking balls. Obviously can’t expect that to happen every time - KL Rahul had the platform to be the hero. Played enough balls, was there throughout many middle overs. But his lack of intent and fearsome approach made the score too weak. Maybe a fearless batter would have gone 150 all out of get us past 300+ and won the match. Still really upset with that 108 balls 1 boundary approach

The board having senior stalwarts like Saurav Ganguly, Rahul dravid , Gautam Gambhir and even Sachin Tendulkar can create a week defined methodology of creating a pool of top 10 all rounders for Indian cricket every year considering the enormous resources available at their disposal . Wasim Jaffer sir is saying correct things. India has to listen these experienced players and applied their recommendations.. Being richest board since last 17-18 years but had won just 1 world cup.. then we are really missing something important that Jaffer is referring to. I also want batter to bowl because it will increase players game awareness. Now a days i dont see cricketer in india to read the situation well especially SKY... He can't handle a pressure game.. even Rishab pant lacks it .. Rohit too. See Virat and Jasprit they work on most occasions. I think when we talk about all rounder in indian cricket, we never take name of Manoj Prabhakar. He was opening bowler and opening batsman. His bowling and batting stats are really good compared to his contemporaries.

Problem ye nhi hai ki bowling krte nhi hai... Problem ye hai ki jb 2 boundary padh gayi tb baki bowl over ki kse krega wo part time bowler.... Just take example of maxwell jb rohit sbko dho rha tha tb australia usko leke aya final me... 2 boundary wo bhi kha liya uske baad jra sa bowl ghumaya aur rohit ka bowl khada ho gaya...kam se kam itna chaiye if u r a part timer....bilaterals me kbhi bowling nhi krwaoge to wc me kbhi over nhi de paoge asi situation me...jb samne wali team dabbi hui hai tb part timer ki koi jrurat nhi hai.. Jrurat tbhi hai jb kisi main bowler ko pdh rhe ho aur kuch overs nikalwane pde. Edit : This impact player rule should not be legalised till it come in internationals... And looking at the dominance of batting in ipl.. Icc will not implement it for sure... So think about indian team first then attract viewers in ipl.
