Issues talked about Michael's departure and stated that he wasn't putting enough effort into the band. All members were constantly trying to improve their skills but stated that Michael wasn't feeling it. Michael was sent for vocal lessons to improve singing but he just did not show enough commitment towards it.

yea that would have made sense if they would have not lied to the public about him leaving vs them firing him. Honestly, I believe they did it because Aj could scream and they did not want to pay Michael anymore. Their new stuff blows anyway just like it always does when original line ups replace/get rid off. Being a long time fan it is a real shame but if you watch any of Micheals interviews on this it seems Tyler was always doing shit like this and making up stories just to get his way.

The fact that Tears On The Runway 2 is an Issues song whilst TOTR 1 is a Tyler Carter song made me think Issues is essentially just “Tyler Carter’s metalcore-inspired solo side project featuring some of his pals”, and Michael Bohn’s exclusion has something else behind besides “he left”. But I don’t know any of the guys personally, so I hope I’m wrong.

That’s a weird excuse. He’s always been a screamer and you already have a good clean vocalist. So why would Michael need to start doing cleans to stay in the band? That being said I think Michael’s cleans on Headspace sounded good. So what’s the problem? To be honest I’ve never liked when bands have two frontmen but I liked them together. Dumb.

HAHA, these guys don't have a single idea what will happen to them in Sept. 2020. Micheal is getting a lot of positive feedbacks in his new band The Villa, released 2-3 songs by the time of this writing. Tyler just got kicked out of Issues because of serious sexual allegations which he have admitted to some. And wait, there's more, if you listen to Turning Point by The Villa, Micheal can already sing well 👀

This is difficult, but this is my unbiased response from an industry standpoint. Michael and tyler KILLED it in woe is me. Thats when they both got big, his screams complimented tylers clean vocals. But from 2010-2015 we all know that rise records & the rest of the metalcore industry started getting lighter & lighter. You are literally asking someone who is ripping his vocal chords in a heavy band to readapt to a genre that is entirely diametric to what he is used to. His cleans were alright, but see that's the problem. Your asking michael, a baritone punk sounding clean vocalist to duo with tyler who was the first vocalist to get on jonny craigs level thats not fair. especially comparing him to all these sites, Ollie does have good clean vocals but people seem to forget that when Bring Me The Horizon got signed to epitaph, Ali had vocal surgery done and he had a lot of money behind him and he was loved for his image so it wasn't exactly fair to compare all the in Michael ..Also & i'm not trying to talk trash, but the Ferrris brothers not being apart of issues had a big infuence in the sound change. I think that Issues was ..i suppose the word would he bold, by dropping the BY FAR THE BEST synth player for a DJ.. like i'm well aware that most hardcore/metalcore bands no longer have synth artists because it can all be programmed, but as someone who played synth/keys for metalcore bands i noticed key highlights throughout their entire tracks with WIM, i don't know why ferris wasn't brought into issues but him & his brother not being apart of the new project affected the sound big time. Issues has hardcore roots, but it wen't in a jazzzy-like hardcore direction as the scene kids grew up and the next generation came in, and unfortunetly michael and the ferris brothers were no longer needed. I do wanna say, i'd prefer the ferris's keys over the DJ programs any day, but you're recieving advice from someone who will always miss the old metalcore. So my opinion is in no way objective, and they have been very, very successfull using turn tables instead of keys, and going all cleans. I just wanna say now that tyler is no longer apart of issues, the band has everything up in the air at this point. Michaels new project is.. interesting it seems like something hopeless records would sign, and replacing tyler will be hard. I honestly would just start a new project, it's honestly apparent that what we get now is in no way similiar to the legacy issues left so make another legacy. Tyler changed the game by mimicking Johnny Craig's R&B vocal style which used to be thought of as impossible and now there are a ton of vocalist like that.. like I said everything's up in the air but these gentlemen seem to be extremely talented regardless of my opinion and I hope this was pretty unbiased

Seemed to me like it wasn’t he wasn’t pulling his weight, it was more so he wasn’t wanting to move the direction the band was wanting to. Use the guitar as an example but that’s stupid since it’s still you staying in your wheelhouse. Michael wasn’t a singer, he was the screamer. Why would he want to practice singing if he wanted to be a screamer? I’ll be following him before following where this garbage music is going. Tyler has done taken over this band too so I’m starting to see why Woe Is Me fell apart. They blamed that on Austin at the time but I’m starting to question that too. Best of luck Issues!

It'd be a totally different thing if they were transparent about everything but their music just isn't what it used to be and they didn't feel a need to keep Michael around with the change in sound. If they got heavier, you could bet your ass he'd still be in the band. Because he was good in his role within the band. But they changed and had less and less of a role for him to fill out. It was either keep him and have him do other things like sing or play instruments, keep him and write heavier music he could participate equally in, or cut him entirely. And they didn't need other instruments, even another vocalist, because the band is already fleshed out and talented at what they do. So even if Michael got pretty good at singing, he'd still be left with scraps because Tyler is so significantly better than the average singer. I'm not into their new record at all. I can vibe with a couple tracks but the bulk of the record just isn't what I want or even like from this group of dudes. Personally think they'd be more relevant today if they kept Michael and went deeper into the metal aspect of their sound but Tyler seems to have the guys bend to his will, and that just isn't how he wanted things to go. And that's totally fine. But it certainly isn't anything Michael did wrong or could have even prevented.

I could tell there was a rising tension even on stage... From what the band has said, Michael just wasn't as motivated or dedicated to Issue as the rest... now we only know one side of the story... there may be reasons why he was not dedicated, maybe he didn't feel like he had a future in the band? @@prod.afterglow eh, not really, they probably would have been more popular if they cut all screaming a long time ago, screaming is extremely generic in this genre at this point, and it even was generic back then in 2012, when most kids stopped being scene or were starting to stop being scene and either branched off into liking real hardcore music or getting into rap instead lol. rappers make better screaming music than metalcore bands do now a days, which explains why it is not nearly as popular as it was a decade ago.
