Imagine this... 2023 in January Benfica loses a midifielder for 100 million.... a kid, starts playing a few matches...he ends the season as a first team player.....by December he is the best player of the team....makes national team....best player in matches with rival clubs....yeah... he is that good... i am amazed with this kid....what a powerhouse, these videos dont make him justice. His stats in tackles are out of this world, and he runs the entire pitch for 90mins....without stoping, and you can add to that, amazing ball control, pushes the team foward and decisive goals... He will be great

As a portuguese and someone that watches Benfica quite frequently, I can say confidently that this boy is going to be the next big thing, and United should be all over him. With 19 years of age he has been the best player in that Benfica team by a country miles. He is so secure on the ball, great vision, doesnt hide, has a great personality, etc. This is a "City typa' player" and we must get him to start our revolution in the midfield so that he can play with the likes of Mainoo in the future.

João Neves is like a Xavi but more combative. Like a lil" ninja 😂 Different players. Both can play as #6 or #8. If we think about the Portuguese National Team in my opinion the best Midfield duo nowadays would be Palhinha at #6 and João Neves at #8. But that duo could be João Neves and Mateus Nunes. João Neves is more energetic and technical in the role of connecting the team like a playmaker. Even their physiques influentiate that. There's no better or worst. It depends on what people value, what they bring to the table according a specific team. It's not like ManCity needs João Neves when they can do a Midfield with Rodri at #6, Mateus Nunes at #8 and Kevin de Bruyne at #10. But most definitely João Neves can do any of those roles.
