One time I decided to make a parley bet on a WNBA game. It was a bet on what would be the first bucket - either a two pointer or a 3/FT. I kid you not, no one scored on either team for the first 7 min of the game. They went like 0-19 combined including missed FT's. At first it was stressful but eventually I just laughed. Never made a bet on a WNBA game after that.

Now I lost a bet with a girl, so I had to watch and study the 2021 WNBA season. The 2021 Chicago Sky finished the the season, 16-16. Half the WNBA had finished with losing records. The Sky were .500 and finished 2nd in the East. The best shooters via fg% the last two seasons: 2021: Sylvia Fowles, 64% while she averaged 16.0 ppg. She averaged 6/10 per game -- that's a made/shot ratio. All considered, pretty impressive but then there's 2020 which, well... 2020: Ruthy Hebard shot 68.2%, which sounds impressive until you realize she averaged 5.7 ppg. She averaged 2/3 made/shots ratio for the entire season. Now to qualify for the WNBA leader boards (for ppg, eg) one must do one of two things: A. Play in 20 games or B. Accumulation of 400 points. Hebard played in 22 games of which she started 6. Took 85 shots, ended with 125 pts. In the NBA season of 2021, their top shooter is averaging pretty much the same as Kenyon Martin Jr... who is a member of the Rockets. At the time I write this, the Rockets are 1-13. Kenyon averages 2/4, 58.3% in shooting, but for him to qualify for leader boards, he needs to take a minimum of 300 shots. Best FG% of 2020 belonged to Mitch Robinson of the Knicks who shot 74% from the field on 342 shots. It's insane how lopsided that is.
