Generally with our rules regarding pit lane entries and exits is has to do with crossing the white line that divides the pit lane and the track. In France jarno crossed the line that divides the pit lane and the side of the track (which is out of bounds). Even though the rules said you can’t break the white line I could see how it is kind of confusing considering breaking the white line on the side of the the track that is out of bounds offers no competitive advantage and is no safety concern.

Thats because the track will become more grippy as more and more tyre rubber will be on the surface of the track due to natural tyre wear of the cars driving their qualifying laps before you

The more they drive around the track, the more rubber from their tires gets laid down, mean an increase in grip, leading to better lap times

Basically because there is no grip in the beginning. As time goes by, the track gets better and better, hence more grip and that is why it is worth it to go out later in the session then in the beginning
