That seems like the main difficulty of the map. It’s hard to tell what’s connecting to what cause of all the pipes, adds another layer of abstraction

You’ve corrupted me to this game. I am not as good as you, but the optimization is simply so fun. Note for normal humans: Don’t be afraid to do a full clear in the middle game. You will have a lot more resources and can optimize a lot better than the ramshackle bullshit you had to build at the start

Dude, believe it or not, it could have been MUCH worse! My RNG on this map was BRUTAL!!! There were multiple turns (including the very last) where I had to COMPLETELY erase and redesign from scratch. I wish I had screenshotted the end result. I cannot say it enough, it was BRUTAL

I am curious how the maps are generated. Like are they truely RNG, or are there just several end states the map has and the way up to that state is randomized? The second option would say that there will be always a solution, but the first would suggest that there are impossible boards.

Yeah, it's a bit confusing, but I think I understand it now. From the center of each hexagon you can go in 12 directions, 6 normal, and 6 'diagonal'. Pipe sections can only end in the centers of hexagons, so you can't keep going along the edges, and the 'diagonal' pipes thus have a length of exactly 1.5 that of the normal pipes. (For the squares it was root 2, rounded to 1.5)

Hitting the first pipes level, i was like: Holy hell these pipes are broken. They allow your paths to essentially cross eachother. Make multiple cross or roundabout like intersections in the middle of nowhere. Have no regards for distance. If there is space for pipes, life is easy

I think the main difficulty with this level is that it is difficult to see which pipes are still usefull and which are not. Especially because some pipes are hidden by the terrain. I am pretty sure that I saw a few pipes that just went nowhere that were almost impossible to spot.

The more I play this game, the more I realize just how busted pipes are. They're better at crossing wires than jumpers and nothing else in the game can cover huge distances in a single resource spend like them.
