Nice video. My family just arrived yesterday (2nd time this year) and will return again in February. We're taking shifts, lol. The energy problem is serious, especially since SA has the best technology infrastructures on the continent. But load shedding is costing the economy a lot of money (and jobs). Eskom was designed 100 years ago using coal for mining operations and is a very old network. It will never meet the global sustainability mandates because it's so old, and with parts getting hard to replace, there are going to be fines the company can't pay, so it will charge customers even more. Time for SA to invest HEAVILY in secured micro-grids, hydrogen energy, municipal biodigesters, and new materials to store and transfer energy. If we did move there, it would be cheaper to be off grid.

Great video bro its just a Pity that many of us south Africans are so stuck in our Problems we cant even recognise good and beautiful things about our country people really need psychological help or something because we need to really start appreciating what we have despite all the problems we have as if the whole world doesn't have their oqn problems reason im saying this is because this video gas nothing to do with negativity but people were so quick to show how much problems we have which is bs.

It's actually the largest economy in Africa, even though when you Google it it says 3rd now. Every nation in Africa knows this and the reason we have recently been labelled as 3rd now is a bit too much for me to mention here. I tell you the truth though, South Africa is the largest economy in Africa and it has been so for many years until recent times just before COVID 19 for political reasons that I cannot mention here. Thank you for a great video.

@@lozi4163 I agree with you, there are people who are labelled as unemployed in the country and yet they have money to go on our luxury hotels and resorts just to enjoy themselves. Things are not as they seem in South Africa.

It is the 2nd or 3rd largest economy in Africa now. Nigeria is the biggest economy by GDP followed probably by Egypt then SA. You should note that GDP is mostly a function of population, the more people, the bigger the economy since people will be engaged in the economy in one way or another. That being said, SA has a bigger GDP per capita than both Nigeria and Egypt. Of course that doesn't take away the fact that SA is the most developed country in the continent.

@@alexchui3511 it's either you did not read my message properly or you just ignored it. Keep decieving yourself buddy. Even the Nigerian government said that they don't believe that they have surpassed South Africa and that we just making fun of them they said. They understood that we in South Africa decreased our numbers deliberately for the purpose relating to internal political issues. Ask any expert in the World however that know South Africa and they will tell you that they don't believe that South Africa is no longer number one on the Continent. It was said so even on platforms like CNN, something else is going on behind the scenes my friend, but it is too much for me to write here and I know what is actually going on. Truly I tell you, South Africa remains the biggest economy despite what Google is showing you. Watch when the current administration in my country falls out of power very soon, then in the blink of an eye we will return to our number one spot that we never left anyway and then you will wonder how. Read properly this time. I cannot tell you everything my friend.

@@abongiledlova477 You are giving me stories instead of breaking down the economics and numbers for me. I am well versed in this area so I know what I'm talking about. If you look at things like GDP PPP, you will find that Nigeria is even much bigger because of the low standards of living vis-a-vis South Africa. Economies and GDP's are not static and different countries have different economic growth rates. SA economy experienced recession while other countries continued growing. My country Kenya has more than doubled it's GDP in 10 years from around 60B to 115B. In that same time, how much has SA grown its economy? It's not about stories but hard facts.

number 1 issue right now are the trains and trainlines that are in a bad state . if you were in cape town a train ride from cape town station to simonstow is the best! around the falsebay coast . i don't know how efficient the trains are on that route anymore though .

The Electricity Load Shedding (blackout) problems started in recent years, we actually have the capacity we need to produce all the power we need as we have been doing for many years, load shedding was not a thing until recent years, because of political issues, high corruption, climate change deals with foreign entities which somehow limits our ability to use our massive coal reserves. Our President and the ruling party have been infiltrated by foreign entities which is the reason why we are having these problems now, a problem that would be easy to fix when we have people in power who are faithful to our country and that will happen soon, because the people in power now are about to fall.

thats the saddest part of the whole thing . to think eskom won awards.even the years after apartheid it was still maintained well . i get sad thinking about where we are now . the government is a total let down and we should not accept this abuse maaan .. there should be a way out of this hole . i fear we will become like nigeria . where it was just accepted nd now their economy runs on generators . we need a nation wide shutdown to protest this mess that is loadshedding .

South Africa has 60 million people who are on the database and legally in South Africa then we have 19 million or more people who are in the country unlawfully and the minister of the police Mr Bheki Cele a month ago confirmed in the parliament to questions regarding by members of parliament that as government they have established that they're about 16 million of people who were counted during the counting of people living in South Africa 2022 they didn't have legal documents to be here
