Even andrew's curiosity saw the towering enemy search beam and was like "Nope.. that looks like the trigger for nightmare mode". What kills me is you backtracked when you could have just continued past the hollow tree, made your way to the glider platform you were literally just looking at, and used a glider to head back to the temple.

I'm loving this game so far. I have done loads of dumb stuff such as climb a mountain by creating a giant pole of 6 logs then getting that stuck at the top of the mountain and attaching even more logs to it to climb up.

so they address this in some side missions which is why in BOTW zelda think's link hates her(in the beginning) cause he doesnt show much emotion or say much. the reality changes when saves from one more instances. she then sees he does care and looks into why he doesnt talk much or express much. Link and all his reincarnations have an interior belief According to Zelda, Link never speaks because he thinks it is “necessary to stay strong and to silently bear any burden.” If we take the diary at face value, not only does this entry explain that Breath of the Wild's Link is the strong, silent type because he doesn't want anyone to worry about him, but it confirms that

I've gotta be honest with you, open world games don't really do it for me. I still enjoyed the Andrew aspect of this, but regardless of everything else, i am here to support you Andrew. You stepping up with the overwatch community and really telling it as it is meant a lot to me, and I just have low expectations but high hopes for the future of our favorite game. They added AMD FSR in TOTK patch 1.1 (despite running on Nvidia hardware, AMD feature is open source) so it's downscaled internally. They could do the same for other games, I guess
