I started watching and playing chess many years ago. Back in the day, I couldn't even keep up with a 3 minute blitz game. It just blew my mind watching the pieces fly by as super GMs battled it out right in front me. Now that I understand a lot of the common themes and ideas, i can actually in my own tiny way follow these bullet games. Not that I could play like Hikaru by any means, but at least I don't feel lost these days. Thanks Hikaru for providing such concise and valuable commentary

I was wondering whether a human with regular time control (let's say 60 for 40 moves, 30 mins for every 20 moves, +30s increment for every move) would have a chance against a computer on bullet (1+0, no ponder), where computer MUST win (draw = human wins). I know it's heavily skewed, but would that be enough for humans to actually beat a computer?

I actually prefer it because you dont have to be razor accurate - i just get irked when people try to flag you right from the start or way too early in the game. I still want to play chess not "push the piece". It feels unsportsmanlike when someone soley is playing to flag. But its just an opinion i dont make the rules.

I like to see my opponents play too fast. It usually means I will end up with a better position. It's a delicate balance but people don't get too far in bullet just playing to flag, just as in any other time control basically.
