I gotta be honest, if youre in bronze/silver and cant climb, like... turn on your monitor lol. In all seriousness tho, just open training mode practice one corner combo, a midscreen one and anti airing and that should get you to plat... there isnt a lot going on those elos that you need to know, your opponent will be unga bungaing and most of the time you will manage to get a good hit, and if you can take 30~40% with one hit, matches will most likely go in your favor. After you get those combos down, just try and add more stuff to your arsenal (situational combos, blockstrings, pressure, frame data, shimmys...)

So, Gold Aki here, I've recently since my application gotten to gold 3 and struggling a bit there but my DI's have gotten better (if I'm not panicking) I've actually started to poke and do stuff in neutral with mixed succes and I've started to get somewhat better on defense with a new problem arising with a slight overuse of reversal supers (and subsequently whiffing them and getting a heavy whip or dash instead)... I'll definitely have to start recording the other characters to train some punishes though, I know frame data as a concept and have some guesstimates (my issue probably) as to what is punishable and what isn't but I'm not certain of those and I don't really know how to pnish all of them

@ΚρανίΩ11 ай бұрын
@@KD-wc4rsi'd suggest more a stand mp, foward hk and stand jabs, cause stand hk is cancelable but the range is very bad, and it has a bunch of recovery. Im in diamond 3-4 with aki(juggling in between) and when i play her, at ranges where im not sure stand hk will reach i'll do stand mp cause even if it is -3 (i think), you move foward while doing it so normally you're close enough to throw, you can threaten a drive rush cancel, a coward crouch cancel or just do a blockstring with your specials. At close range, foward hk is amazing since its +2 so its still your turn, you can threaten a throw or trade your stand mp with a 4 frame, which can get you a trade combo afterwards for most characters. You can also bait a throw attempt, a ex dp. When i whiff punish, i either use crouch heavy kick, stand heavy punch target combo or, very situational stand hk cause it doesn't always reach, while waiting for the whiff, eithere walk them down, intimidate them while still keeping your distance or try to use your serpent slashes and fireball to control the spaces. Also broski is probably the best source for aki high level, but at our level people will mash and press whenever so be careful, you might know something is +2, but the opponent most of the times doesn't so keep this in mind

If you're not sure the combo will hit, go to your jabs, its still very good damage if they hit, about 1k to 2k if you're playing ken or dee jay, and you can confirm very easily with jabs. Just make sure you practice confirming while doing that in matches. Confirming jabs at first will also help you do it with other buttons that take more risks. It does take some time tho so if you're patient you'll be golden in about a week or 2 depending on how much you play

My biggest issue is that I have such a hard time reacting after a hit. I always need two hits before I notice whether they blocked or not, therefore my footsies suck because after I attack, I always comit. It’s to the point where I’ve almost given up on it and just chosen to do entire combos that are safe on block just cause I can’t react to whether they blocked until I’m a couple hits in. I am D3, i currently have a huge problem with winning the first game and losing the next 2 of the set. And its not that my opponents play better but i know i play worse. I think i may be trying almost too hard to not be readable and change things up and it ends up hurting me
@marbleeuw428411 ай бұрын
I think it’s one of two things. 1. Mental, your comment gives me the impression that you overthink. I have this problem myself and sometimes I become very obsessed with things that are redundant. There are so many factors to losing a game that it’s easy to get carried away. Try to look at concrete things that you know you can easily affect and improve. 2. You may have developed a playstyle that is very effective in short sets, and your opponents simply realize this after one game. This is very common in SF6 because the games are FT2. I would recommend grinding long sets in lobbies or battle room to practice. Consistency can be achieved through this. It’s good to play with someone you can ask questions and communicate with, because they can point out elements of your playstyle that are exploitable. Example: if you autopilot tic throws alot it’s gonna be most effective the first game. But it’s very easy to get a read on that. I am definitely not Nephew, but I hope I could help you at least a little bit. Good luck man!
@JustMatthias11 ай бұрын
@@marbleeuw4284 I do indeed overthink way too much. I watch some ken guides every now and again from angrybird or other content creators to learn frame traps and combo resets. And after watching I get so caught up in trying to do them every match and it becomes all I think about. I ended up deranking almost back to d1 and so I then took a couple days break to get a mental reset and climbed back to d3 pretty easily today. as far as longer sets go I think this is a great tip. Usually, I would only do a couple matches of casual to warmup for ranked but now even in my spare time I queue up some unranked and try to usually play as many games as I can against the same opponent in a row and see what kinda things they pick up on me through the set. it has helped me understand some things I do too much without causing me to completely overthink about it.
