i have more tips for new people: 1. dont start with 900 degrees start with 360 or something low and work your way up and get more comfortable with your wheel 2. if you cant drift that good because your FFB is very high, lower it and do the same with the wheel and find your sweet spot 3.practice makes perfection. like a wise goose said if you practice you will get better and if you practice daily yow ill get better overtime 4.dont go into online until you feel like you have gotten good enough. there are practice TANDEM gamemode where you tandem with yourself 5.dont be a silly goose and copy others tunes. make your own and build it up (like goosiest said in the vid) 6.USE YOUR BRAKES. dont abuse your handbrake use left-foot braking (please) there are my tips have a good day/night

With regards to Ackerman, it will have the same effect regardless of input device just you won't be able to over rotate with the steering assist. But regardless you will get a HUGE amount of scrubbing on your front inside wheel (why you can see it leaving skid marks all the time) which will hurt your momentum. Ackerman is dynamic toe, toe angle that increases with steering lock, 0% is a very unrealistic amount of dynamic toe. But at the end of the day, whatever works just roll with it

Steering wheel settings have a big effect in every game you play. If you don't accurately set it up, you'll be missing or having exaggerated details on your force feedback which will lead to you making more mistakes that aren't necessarily in your control.

Hey goose! Keep up the content! 😊 on wheel, the Ackerman is back the front so 100 Ackerman in car is closest to 0 ack in real life. So ideally you want to have 100 ackerman. 0 Ackerman creates slower driving due to lead wheel scrubbing off speed :) 100 ackerman is what we advise everyone to work their way up to, as it’s more realistic. Hope all is well✌️

Question! I use controller and I have trouble with oversteering cars a lot (somehow my 180sx does it the most), so should I lower the ackerman angle to make it harder to spin? I guess it varies from car to car, atm my best car is the Eclipse (Solar) I try not to redline my cars, so I don't think throttle control is the issue, and I use 100 adhesion if that helps
@jake136962 жыл бұрын
@@leto1596 try playing with your diff locking my man! Don’t be shy to knock it down to 0.10 and give that a crack. And also, the Ackerman/castor values will play a part in this, from memory, on controller I think I used to run as high as I could until it started looping out a little too much. Ackerman does the same thing for every input device. it's just that's there's a magical assist for controller and keyboards that holds the car back when it nears max angle, and when combined with lots of caster and little Ackerman you just can't spin the car. In the beginning this assist could be turned off in the Android game, it can't be on PS4, pc I have no idea.
@guillaumejoop64372 жыл бұрын
It can be disabled on PC, I would have asked for a refund straight away if it wasn't. Ain't no way I'm getting baby wheeled that hard, auto-countersteer is trash
@dmtc69132 жыл бұрын
@@guillaumejoop6437 the auto countersteer on controller I find awesome actually, it gives the same feeling you get on a wheel. But the assist I was mentioning is another thing which kicks in near max angle. think of it as a huge invisible hand that holds the rear of the car. So basically to have fun on controller in CarX you have to set up the car terribly.

@sawyerlawler24892 жыл бұрын
As far as I know Ackermann basically determines how much you can countersteer before the front inside tire starts to 'drag' (you'll notice it leaving tire marks while you're in a drift) more Ackermann means this will occur less which will often make for a 'smoother' feel but can potentially make the car easier to spin if you like to transition aggressively. I play on controller and I'm usually at around 50-70% on most of my tunes. Caster and front camber angle are also important so play around with those as well

Just got a t300rsgt today and could not drift for my life. If its really bad like the car just throws u into a spin or throws u like crazy during transitions its probably not your fault. Try turning off spring and dampening in your wheels control panel settings, this adjustment really changed my experience to make much more sense when drifting. Im curious to see goosiest's control panel settings🤔 as this made a huge difference. Theres probably more tweaks i could do to make drifting feel more realistic and easier. Anyways, if it feels really wrong and like its not you, its probably settings or a malfunction.

another thing too about copying tunes online is that the game has changed so much in the last 2 years on the wheel side of things that old tunes will be completely broken. if you tried the game on a wheel last year and couldnt get it i highly suggest you try it again because the game is hands down way more intuitive then it ever was
@silaboop2 жыл бұрын
The difference between 0 and 100 ackerman is very simple, and you can even see it on the video. On zero, the front wheels are not on the same angle when you're steering, so one wheel is drifting and even leaves a tire mark. On 100 the wheels have the same angle all the time, and you can see they don't leave a single mark on the road. It's usually what you want on a drift car, at least IRL or in a simulation like Assetto, as it is much more predictable and consistent. Don't know how it works on CarX with wheel tho. And don't forget that a good tune is a tune you feel comfortable with.
@Goosiest2 жыл бұрын
I understand, CarX however is not a simulator game. The issue is people thinking ackerman acts the same way as controller and it limits your angle so basically cheating/super easy.

Your comparing 0 ackerman with assist and 0 ackerman with no assist. Which is 10° of ackerman irl. Just look from top down itll show the outter wheel scrubbing an limiting your angle. Which will result in pulling you into the corner instead of the outside of the corner. I feel like this was a review of everything I've done on my Channel. It's true e30-e36 was bad. The e36 is now somewhat fixed which I can provide the tune for you to try. I can agree with everything except for some stuff on ackerman but that'll always be up for debate. SEATTIME IS EVERYTHING. You can run max power but I tune the suspension to stabilize it. Takes practice and a lot of throttle control. Some cars though the low rpm lag is a killer for throttle feathering. Been running controller for right now until I can get a wheel. But I do like the flash very precision lines with it. I've driven a car a few times stopped came back to it a while later and changed the entire tune because my driving style had changed. So definitely learn how the tuning works and tweak your car for how you drive. I myself am a fast and precision line touge style so mine wouldn't work for someone who is an outside line show tandem driver.
