There's a good method I've found for avoiding hangover anxiety: not drinking. I feel clear headed when I wake up, I don't phone in sick, I've made huge strides working out, I don't binge eat, I have money for holidays, I can have nice things, and my voice doesn't sound like a foghorn anymore. Coping with hangover anxiety is just putting a plaster on a permanent wound - it doesn't solve the problem (or all the others that come with drinking). Best to just stop and reap the benefits.

You can have a thumbs up just for the Evanescence track alone :-) If you think your phone notes are painful, my drunk curse is perfect recall! I wake up the next morning with crystal clear memory of everything I said and did... And absolutely no idea how I could think any of those were good ideas! The cries of "Oh god" as I awake have absolutely nothing to do with physical pain in my head! Going back to bed with a pint of water and a sandwich works perfectly. I can avoid facing anyone the next day and sleep off my headache whilst hoping everyone else has really bad recall - and no notes on their phone (I'll check those in future, thanks Soph!)!

@@TheDokterKokosnoot Time bro, depending on how much alcohol you consumed I'd say the severaty of the hangover varies. You gotta get out tho , workout, work, eat right, exposure to cold , vitamin D it's best if you get it from the sun hydrate and get some rest. For the anxiety and depression part don't trip too much or you'll put your body into shock and that can lead to worse things. Treat it like a normal hangover. Oh and rest. 5:07 - "Your brain makes more glutamate receptors" - It's always weird when I hear people say stuff like this. It's one thing if it releases more of a neurotransmitter, that's makes sense, but how does it make more _receptors_ ? 🤨 🤔 That's like instead of saying a battery increased its voltage output, it grew more connectors. 😕 Someone (wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more) needs to make an explanatory video on this concept, the spontaneous and rapid growth of neuroreceptors.
@SophsNotes4 жыл бұрын
I always found this so interesting too!! That a receptor is coded for by DNA, and so you can just make more by ramping up the 'output' from the relevant genes. Sounds like it could make a nice little video... 🤔
@SaraWolffs4 жыл бұрын
That's because it isn't quite like a battery, it's more like radio signals where you can either send more signals or grow more... antennae? Ok, so the analogy isn't perfect, but you get the idea. Please don't ask for an analogy that can accommodate the effect of reuptake inhibitors.

Sophs notes, you seem to know a lot about psychology and the terms I'm trying to find out the correct term name for getting anxiety but not drinking not having any beer not having any alcohol or wine but getting hangs already daily from the the chemical imbalance in the brain I'm guessing but I'm not sure how to balance the chemicals in the brain to prevent that that same effect that hangs anxiety gets but I'm not I'm not a drinker so I'm not sure what is causing that same symptoms of you just feel foggy and horrible and you got voices in your head saying that you're you're not managing your life and your the nothing stable you got anxiety from the stressors and I'm not sure if it seems very close to the anxiety effect but I'm sure there's some way cuz I've tried apple cider vinegar and that helps with the stomach with the with the balancing the sugar levels which is the vagus nerve has a lot to do with the chemicals of the brain so I kind of helps out a little bit the apple cider vinegar drinking it I was wondering if you knew anything else that would kind of balance out the chemicals so you don't have like over anxiety or having the guilt and the stress every day that you know the you're not managing your life those type of voices because that seems like what a lot of the anxiety effect is is you got that voice saying you're not managing your life you're not managing your life and it constantly is replaying over and over and that has kind of like been a hardwired into my brain from the the early days when I used to drink in my twenties and it seems like now it's anxieties hardwired and it's on a mildly basis but maybe you got some information you can look up and try to comment back that would help me out a lot
