I've always been taught that the rod is what catches the fish. The reel is for taking up the slack line. Some beginners mistakenly believe the reel is for dragging the fish in.

Great video Blane, those are some good tips, I see a lot of people lose pompano's 😮😢🎣🐟🐟 because of all of that jerking stuff, me myself I learned over time just let the fish take what its going to give, and have your drag properly set on your reels, follow your fish when it decide to run down the beach or on a pier, this have successfully helped me land more fish than I have lost,😮😅🐟🐟🐟, Thank again for the content, You and your family have a Merry Christmas 🎁🎣,, Stay Safe God Bless,,
