From my personal experience of VAG engines that have caught fire, the block casting is likly to be compromised and will not hold bolt torque anymore. So for example when you go to install new head bolts and torque them down, one or more of them will not torque down. Ive had machine shops try to fix the issue and no matter if the hole was tap inserted or weld filled and tapped. You can not torque a head bolt down anymore. Id strongly advice you search for a donor engine. Replace long blokc and just swap over some minor acc like alt and pump if they are okay. Most all things rubber and plastic and even the main harness need to be replaced, NOT REPAIRED. Extreme open wild flames and heat will comprimise everything around it. Sorry for your loss.

Yea it freaking suck trying to find new harness but this company I found makes a full tucked wire harness for 1000 bucks, I’m gonna get that one
