Those accidents only happen when the person clearly can't handle the load , 20 plates on , can't even go 1/4 way down and is using arms to push their legs ... Won't happen if you have an adequate ammount of weight that you can handle

I always think it's funny how people say you shouldn't lock out on a leg press, but nobody bats an eye when people squat or deadlifts insane amounts of weight. There are literally like.. 3 videos where one is an Olympic level ego lifter, one is a seemingly untrained woman with super mobile knees and one with a guy trying to leg press a car. If people snapping in half on this machine was a common occurrence, I bet we'd have more than those 3.

Nah but seriously locking out like that can be dangerous especially under heavy load and going to failure.

Dude ur just overdoing it honestly. Save your joints. Ur legs are already looking great. I wouldn’t go that far to force an extra rep or two. I’d be better off taking a short break and go for an additional set. Failure sets are fun but you’re type of failure set is death lol

@lobosalvaje83012 жыл бұрын
Why would you ever lock out on a leg press? When you lock out you lose the compression on that muscle group. In reality...you should never lock out a lift, besides deadlift. You lock your joints under tension where they were never meant to be under anyway. Time under tension is the safest method.
@lukas64852 жыл бұрын
Because your quads are only fully contracted when you lock out… It works the same way as your triceps, only fully contracted when you lock out
